I love this show, watched it in class and it blew us all away, we ended up watching all the episodes in 3 days or so because we were so invested in it.
The characters are so phenomenally great written and their stories are greatly intertwined in each episode. And Rolli, I think he has become my favorite character in all of TV history. There's an amazing depth to his character that develops over the show, that in the last episode, he is a completely new and changed person!
The show thaught me so much, and I didn't even realise it! It was mixed so seemlessly in with the fantastic narrative, and compelling characters, I can speak fluent german now! Ja, wunderbar!
The music numbers are great, although the animation is a bit dated, I think it adds a lot of charm to the show. And the Rolli und Ritta shorts are some of the funniest, finest crafted comedy I have ever seen.
And the last episode, I'm not spoiling anything, but it honestly made me cry... The acting is absolutley terrific and the music, oh the music, that's what pushed me to the edge. It reflects the fantastic journey you've been on, with ups and downs, love and hate, but in the end, it's a story about family, and I think that's what makes it special.
I think that this, is truly, the pinnacle of what TV can do, and if you're ever making a TV show, this is your blueprint. Thank you Rolli, Rita, Marco, Danial, Jessica, Esther, Thomas and Miriram, you've given me so much joy from such a small thing, that, in the end, is actually much bigger than you think...
