The plot: two zombies go on a road-trip and try to find one's ex-girlfriend to profess his love.
This is a pretty stupid ripoff of Shaun of the Dead, but, unfortunately for me, I've seen much worse. As far as low budget, independent zombie movies go, this is actually one of the more tolerable entries. That's not saying much when your competition is The Dead Hate The Living and Dance of the Dead. Still, there were appealing aspects to it, and it had some degree of charm, I guess. I'm a bit tired of self-aware hipster nerds in zombie comedies, though. Especially when there's a romantic subplot.
If you like movies that are basically just a couple of goofy nerds spouting off pop culture references and movie quotes, then I'm sure you'll find this amusing. Otherwise, I'd advise that you skip it. Instead, just watch Shaun of the Dead again.

I had to write a short review of this. Some of the top reviews of this movie is obviously made by someone affiliated with the movie in some way.
The movie is mildly entertaining. The plot is the main guy that wants to declare his love for his old girlfriend. The side-story is about an old guy who wants to spread his dead wife's ashes by some shore or other. The side-plot isn't executed very successfully. The acting is OK, although the side-kick gets to be annoying.
I was hoping for a few laughs, but I didn't laugh once in the course of this movie. It was a bit funny at times. So I smiled, and that's it.
If you have nothing else to do, or if you REALLY like zombie-themed movies by all means see it. You're not gonna walk away very satisfied though.
I managed to sit though it's entirety. I'm starting to think that I should have spent it sleeping instead.
Goodnight!

I can understand that people really liked this zombedy. But it is just a few weeks ago that I saw two other US comedies namely, Vampires Su*k and Tucker and Dale vs Evil. It was very simple, Vampire Su*k was indeed a big su*k but Tucker was hilarious. Why, because it had stupid situations and misunderstandings. People who knew me know that I'm not into Us comedies except a few like Tucker. Sadly Deadheads failed for me.
I had a few laughs, for example the gym with the zombie they called Cheese. that was funny, but ripping off an arm and putting it back on place to move further isn't funny anymore. On the other hand there are a few good things too, I was looking forward for McDinkle (Benjamin Webster). He's the kind of guy you all know, I had a few laughs with him but the main characters weren't convincing. It isn't all comedy, in fact, it's a love story between a guy being killed and turned into a zombie going to find his love. But they never got into stupid situations. On the gory part there is more to see, there are a few good things to see like the decapitation.
My mouth moved a few times but not enough to call it great. With Tucker for example I was laughing out loud. I'm sure that it will have his fans but this time I didn't dig it, sorry.

This movie was so terrible that I couldn't even finish watching it. The acting was forced, and extremely cliché. The two main characters are a stereotypical comedic pair. One is extremely dorky and over the top and the main character is the straight man. But I did not feel any chemistry, and nothing they did seemed to fit together.
The jokes were not very clever or interesting. Relying mainly on sex jokes and wacky lines that are meant to be controversial, or at least elicit some sort of jerk reaction. They failed horribly.
I am not sure why this was compared to Shaun of the Dead as it doesn't have any of the charm, pacing or cleverness possessed by that movie. I love zombie movies, but this just made me very, very sad.
The action side story, seemed a lot more interesting. But then again, this movie was supposed to be interesting because of it being from the point of view of the zombies.

Deadheads is both a zombie movie and a love story about two zombies who go on a cross-country road trip to reconnect with a girlfriend from their waking life. It is far better than one might expect from the premise.
I am not particularly interested in zombie movies so I was pleased to find that Deadheads had characters with very human motivations; several times during the film I found myself caring for Michael McKiddy's character, despite his zombie appearance.
One great thing about the film is its self-awareness. The directors, and actors know they are making a zombie love story, and they embrace the ridiculousness of that fact completely. The movie is all about fun--there are many pop-culture references, references to other movies, and a lot of extremely vulgar humor and absurd situations that could only happen in an independent film. There is however, just enough sentimentality to keep it human and down to earth. In other words, if you make your girlfriend watch only one zombie movie this year, make this the one--it has enough echoes of romantic comedy to appeal to a larger audience. With that said, I am confident I am the target demographic: a male who grew up loving 80's movies.
There are several scenes that seem a little too long but overall the pacing is good, the action is exciting, and the length felt right. Deadheads is not going to change the world. But if you have an interest in humor, gore, and want to be entertained for an hour and a half it is worth your time.

DEADHEADS is, I guess, trying to be a US spin on SHAUN OF THE DEAD, a well-remember British zombie comedy. The twist in this film is that the protagonists themselves are zombies, gradually rotting away as they travel the USA in search of a lost love.
I don't really see much potential in that premise and unsurprisingly this turns out to be complete garbage thanks to the script. It's trying to be one of those stoner comedies, full of self-referencing and dumb humour. The dialogue is littered with swearing throughout but the writers/directors are no Tarantino - every line sounds hollow and badly written. Even worse, none of it is funny, none of it even raised a slight chuckle.
Sure, there are gore effects galore here - played for laughs, of course - and lots of zombie-shooting incident, but it's all familiar and, dare I say it, predictable. For me, there's nothing worse than an unfunny comedy, which is why I give this two thumbs down.

I didn't know about this movie at all before I stumbled upon it by sheer luck. I glanced at the poster and then read something about it being similar to "Shaun of the Dead", and of course, being the zombie aficionado that I am, I just had to give this movie a go.
The story is quite nice, with Mike (played by Michael McKiddy) and Brent (Ross Kidder), two zombies on a roadtrip across the country to get Mike back with his beloved former girlfriend. They befriend both living and undead along the way; Cliff (played by Harry Burkey) and Cheese (played by Markus Taylor). The group gets into all kinds of situations and the movie is filled with cool one-liners and lots of laughs.
"DeadHeads" surprised me as it was quite good, had a catchy and good story, and also had really nice make-up and effects. The zombies in the movie were looking great, and the make-up on Cheese, in particular, was fabulous. Also the undead-look given to Mike and Brent was quite good.
The movie have some really unique and outrageous characters, and it is characters that you will remember for a long time, especially McDinkle (played by Benjamin Webster). He was off the charts.
Now, "DeadHeads" is a comedy first and foremost, and the zombies are just a backdrop, a supplement to the real story. But still, if you liked "Shaun of the Dead", then bets are that you will enjoy this movie as well. It is not entirely up to the level of "Shaun of the Dead", but it does make a good effort, and it is entertaining.
I have recently suffered through two really bad zombie movies, so "DeadHeads" were a nice upbeat experience, and it did approach the zombie genre in a great way. The tribute to "The Evil Dead" was quite tasteful.
I saw only a single flaw in the movie, and that was Mike and Brent's steamy breath in the night scenes. Zombies weren't supposed to be breathing, so that was a blooper. Sure it is a minor flaw, and truth be told, it was the only thing that was bad about the movie.
Thumbs up for "DeadHeads", well worth a watch if you like comedies or want a light-hearted approach to the zombie genre.

Outside of the fact this film borrows from every unoriginal overused cliché joke and situation, it is almost insulting at how unfunny it is, while it clumsily tries to be funny. You know these people are beginners when its a zombie film. Simon Pegg wring a bell? And thats about all this film has in common with Pegg.
The acting was very mediocre and boring. The sidekick was a typical, cliché, annoying and idiotic side kick, playing off of his "straightman" buddy, who possesses about as much charisma as a pear.
What I actually find most insulting, though, is the pathetic attempts to beef this movie up, by the makers of the movie, who dishonestly compared it to Shaun of the Dead, and wrote fake reviews here on IMDb and on Amazon as well.
For instance..look at the reviews...if it isn't a 1 star review, its a 10 star review. And not just a 10 star review, but titles to those reviews all in capitol letters, accented with several exclamation points.
"GREATEST FILM EVER IN THE UNIVERSE OF TIME AND SPACE CONTINUUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" That is a trick to grab your attention, folks. And there are several of these made up reviews. Ask yourself...how excited could someone possibly get over a B movie no one has heard of? If such a film could generate this kind of hysteria and praise from a random public, we would have heard about it on television or some much larger media.
These 10 star reviews were made by people within the film itself..the actors, to promote their careers, the producers, to promote their product, etc...
This film is nothing like Feeding Frenzy, a phenomenon of itself, and as another reviewer brought up, the very funny and original Tucker and Dale vs. Evil.
This film was yet another boring, unoriginal, tired and cliché movie that just Happens to sort of be about zombies. Sure, they thought making zombies the main characters would be sort of original...but its already been done, actually. And nothing is original about how the two zombies act. You've seen it before in several buddy movies...over...and over...and over...and over again.
Please do not watch this thing. Do not support these actors or film makers. And please ignore the inflated, exaggerated claims and reviews by the film makers and cast themselves...it is just a desperate and pathetic attempt to inflate the last thing they should ever do in film.

Its very rare that you come across a Horror/Comedy film with a decent budget and good actors, its even more rare to come across one that is fresh and original. "Deadheads" has all that and more.
The story is something pretty new that hasn't ever really been done this well before. It moves a long at a very nice pace and it definitely didn't contain any dull moments. There were plenty of laugh out loud scenes and the gore was a nice touch. The ending was very unbelievable and over the top but that was easily forgivable since the film was so good.
The acting was surprisingly very good, some of the characters were a little corny but it was obvious that they set out to make them that way. Cheese stole the show!
"DeadHeads" is a hilarious Horror/Comedy that deserves a lot of credit. The best Horror/Comedy since Shaun Of The Dead. 9/10

Hilarious and original take on zombie movies, albeit from the point of view of two cognizant zombies. Nerdy Mike "awakens" from being murdered three years earlier to find himself re-animated amidst a zombie feeding frenzy, and runs into another self-aware zombie in "never take anything seriously" Brent and a trainable hulking zombie named Cheese. Together with Vietnam vet Cliff they escape quarantine and embark on a road trip to find Mike's old flame in Michigan, all the while being chased by nefarious secret ops hellbent on their recapture. This is one wild ride from start to finish and everyone involved does a great job of bringing such a fresh idea to the screen and making us hope for a sequel.
The answer is no, but I don't regret watching. Is it good? Not really , but you're not watching this movie to see oscar-winning performances. Just take it for what it is low budget bad acting funny little zombie movie if you're trying to think of something to watch

Had potential but fails to really deliver anything noteworthy.
The premise was actually good and so were the 2 leads but the supporting cast should return their paycheques (if they got paid!) because they were awful. Of special mention is Ben Webster who played McDinkle. I know it was supposed to be over the top but it was just crap and felt really forced. He literally ruined every scene he was in!
Save your time!

This was nice twist on zombie movies, Which I don't think it's be done before but I found the first half the movie very funny at times.
As the movies goes on, I didn't really find some of the jokes that funny at all, I got really bored in the middle of the movie.
I didn't really thing the movie was that gory at all for a zombie movie, there maybe body Parts being pulled there some strange moment were zombie guts were used as a rope
The acting was really good from the whole, it shame some of the bad parts of the movie kinda of over shadows fist half of the movie.
I wasn't to keen on ending of the movie at all.
6 out of 10

Terrific zombie comedy! Gory action for the guys, romantic comedy for the girls...something for everyone. If you liked Shaun of the Dead, you'll like Deadheads even better. The chemistry and timing between the lead actors is what makes this film special. Mike (Michael McKiddy) and Brent (Ross Kidder-so funny!) are the Abbott and Costello of zombie movies, while Markus Taylor is excellent as Cheese, a "zombified" Lenny-like character in Of Mice and Men. The trio meet during a failed zombie experiment and travel across country to find Mike's old girlfriend and love of his life. It has great horror action scenes, smart humor, and heart. A real fun ride!
Entertaining actors, well acted and the movie has a pretty funny script. I didn't hear/see a lot of Clichés as other have said. The script moved along well. It was not low budget nor was it high budget. But definitely not low budget. The special effects were high quality, body parts, gun shot wounds, etc. The guys chasing the two main characters do a good job as vigilantes and present a nice reason for the main characters to be on the run. Oh, and there is an explanation for the reason the two guys are not like the other zombies. You just have to wait for it. It's definitely a good popcorn movie with enough funny moments.
Originally I was going to just give this a low score to try and help offset the absurd 10s those associated with the film gave it. But honestly, this thing was so bad it made me angry, so I came back to add my two cents.
The only reason I gave it as a 2 is because the original concept wasn't a bad one. I like zombies. I like comedies. But the "comedy" part is sorely missing here. Egads, such a stupid, unfunny script acted by a bunch a second-rate actors who were woefully unable to lift anything special out of this dreck. It was absolutely painful. The only way I was able to slog through to the end was to start playing games on my phone while it played in the background. Even still I couldn't completely block out the awfulness of such a STUPID, UNFUNNY MOVIE.
Look, I can forgive a lot of things. Low budget doesn't even bother me if I'm entertained. But I swear this is the Adam Sandler of zombie comedies; in other words, it's stupid, juvenile and absolutely unfunny. I cannot believe I forced myself to watch the whole dumb thing just to write a fair review.
You're welcome.

It was okay as a Comedy Film, I guess. The characters were compelling, which is a very rare thing on the zombie genre. But I was looking for Zombies Movies, tho.
It wasn't a bad story, but I watched it on 1,75x speed. Guess I wanted to watch something more inclined toward the survival horror. I wasn't in that mood to see something funny.
