"Time River" had its Hollywood premiere in 1992 at The Silent Movie Theatre on Fairfax Avenue.
The western street used to depict the town of Time River was originally constructed for Bill Cosby's feature film debut as an actor, "Man and Boy." It also appeared in "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure."
The nursing home interior set was built at Southwestern Studios using the set walls from Bob Hope's last feature film "Cancel My Reservation" which was shot at the studio. The cabin set used in the love scene had originally been constructed for the TV Movie "McMasters of Sweetwater" starring Jack Cassidy.
The distinctive boulder rock outcropping seen behind the Young Cowboy as he rides into Time River, also can be seen in Orson Welle's last film "The Other Side of the Wind" that was shot at Southwestern Studio one year after "Time River" wrapped. Both films showed vehicle drive-bys and interiors driving north up Scottsdale Road from Scottsdale to Carefree, AZ. Both instances were purely coincidental.
