The German version of the 5-part documentary miniseries titled "Es war einmal im Irak" and the French version titled "Il était une fois en Irak", broadcasted for the first time in Germany and France by the Franco-German cultural TV channel ARTE in March 2021, were edited to only 3 episodes of around 60 minutes each. Approximately 120 minutes of footage from the original miniseries are missing in this German and French cut version.
