Even though this movie has the tagline "American Pie Plays Golf," this movie has nothing to do with the American Pie Presents series. The only similarity between this movie and the American Pie Presents series is Steve Talley. However, the character he portrayed in this movie, Eric Keller, and the character he portrayed in American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile and American Pie Presents: Beta House, Dwight Stifler, have different names. This shows the distinct differences between the movies. Yet, the Major Hollywood Studio Movie distribution company, and owners of the America Pie Franchise Copyright (Universal Studios, Universal Pictures, and Universal Pictures International), chose to add the tag line, "American Pie Plays Golf".
