A boy is caught stealing. Instead of the police, he is given a home and training for a skilled trade. A doctor is drafted, and thanks the people of the small town he has been tending for making him welcome; a girl has too many memories of death by barbed wire, and leaves the kibbutz. Robert Young introduces these three stories and makes an appeal for the United Jewish Appeal in this short subject.
So do many well-known actors, from Thomas Mitchell to Donna Reed. As an old joke goes, "Funny, you don't look Jewish." Not all of them were. They were, however, glad to offer their services in support of a worthy charity.
