Cologne, Germany -- Danish mega-producer Regner Grasten will make his U.S. debut with a remake of one of his biggest hits.
Grasten is acting as an executive producer on "Love at First Hiccup," a remake of the 1999 Danish teen rom-com that grossed an astounding $4.5 million in the tiny territory of 5 million inhabitants. The film spawned five sequels, the latest of which, "Anja & Victor: For Better or Worse," just hit Danish cinemas.
Devon Werkheiser, star of Nickelodeon's "Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide" will star alongside Scout Taylor-Compton ("Halloween") in the $2.4 million remake, which first-timer Barbara Rothenberg will direct. Shooting has begun in Los Angeles. Bob Engelman and Rosemary Marks are producing.
