The upcoming fourth season of the beloved Hulu series will star Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis, and Eva Longoria as the film adaptation versions of Steve Martin’s Charles, Martin Short’s Oliver, and Selena Gomez’s Mabel, respectively.

Following a surprise appearance at Coachella earlier this month, Blink-182‘s classic lineup of Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge, and Travis Barker officially kicked off their first tour together in nearly a decade. Taking the stage at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota on Thursday night, the pop-punk trio ran through a 25-song setlist.

Notably, the show Blink-182 perform “Cynical” and “Bored to Death,” two songs recorded and released by the band with Matt Skiba following DeLonge’s departure in 2015. Ben Wasserstein has entered a first look deal at Richard Plepler’s Eden Productions.

Under the deal, Wasserstein will pursue and develop new comedy and drama series, limited series and films for Eden’s multi-year deal with Apple TV+. He will work alongside Heather Karpas, who joined Eden in 2020 after previously working at ICM Partners.

HBO’s Ben Wasserstein has inked an exclusive first-look deal with former HBO chairman and CEO Richard Plepler’s Eden Productions.

Wasserstein, who most recently served as HBO’s senior VP of Original Programming, has signed onto the three-year-old production company to develop comedy and drama series, limited series and films for Eden’s multiyear deal with Apple TV+.

The former SVP, who will be based on the West Coast, will work alongside Heather Karpas, who recently joined Eden from ICM Partners in 2020.

“Ben is one of the most talented creative executives of his generation,” Plepler said in a statement. “I’m thrilled he’ll be bringing his superb eye for talent and material to Eden.”

HBO’s “Game of Thrones” prequel “House of the Dragon” has emerged as a certified blockbuster hit — but the epic fantasy series must do battle in Season 2 without co-showrunner, director and executive producer Miguel Sapochnik.

Sondra James, a character actor who has appeared in film, TV and onstage over the past four decades with the likes of Ben Affleck, Robert De Niro, Christopher Lloyd, Mike Birbiglia and Joaquin Phoenix in his Oscar-winning role in 2019’s Joker, died September 12 in her native New York City after a five-month battle with lung cancer. She was 82.

The limited series centers on big-cat enthusiast Carole Baskin (Kate McKinnon), who learns that fellow exotic animal lover Joe “Exotic” Schreibvogel (John Cameron Mitchell) is breeding and using his big cats for profit. Sasha Silver has been promoted to head of drama for Hulu Originals.

Silver takes over the role from Jordan Helman, who was recently promoted to lead scripted content for the streamer. Silver will report to Helman in her new role.

This follows the promotion of Jordan Helman, who was formerly head of drama, to head of scripted content, who took over the role after Beatrice Springborn’s move to UCP.

Silver was most recently director of original drama content, where she helped bring in projects such as The Act, Little Fires Everywhere and The Great. She also spearheaded dramas including Castle Rock, Looking for Alaska, Marvel’s Runaways and upcoming titles Nine Perfect Strangers and The Girl From Plainville.

Reporting to Helman, Silver joined Hulu in 2016, having previously been VP, TV development at Chernin Entertainment and director of development at Paramount TV, where she oversaw The Real Hotwives of Orlando and Las Vegas, Berlin Station and The Alienist. She started her development career with Sarah Condon at HBO, where she worked on Bored to Death.

Beloved screen and stage actress Olympia Dukakis died May 1 at the age of 89. The news of the Oscar winner’s passing was shared by her brother, Apollo Dukakis, on Facebook. “My beloved sister, Olympia Dukakis, passed away this morning in New York City. After many months of failing health she is finally at peace and with her Louis,” Apollo wrote. Her husband, actor Louis Zorich, died in 2018 at the age of 93.

Exclusive: Fox has put in development Red Widow, a one-hour CIA thriller based on Alma Katsu’s forthcoming book, which Sarah Condon is executive producing. A search is underway for a writer to pen the adaptation via an open writing assignment.

In Red Widow, the lives of two female CIA agents become intertwined around an internal threat to the Agency’s Russia Division as they navigate the mostly male world of intelligence. The novel captures the kind of thorny, manipulative behind-the-scenes machinations that take place inside intelligence headquarters that only a true insider would know.

Author and former Nsa/CIA senior intelligence analyst Katsu, whose book Red Widow is set for release March 23 by Putnam, is attached as an executive producer. Fox Entertainment is the studio. The project is not related to the 2013 ABC series Red Widow or the Dutch drama on which it was based.

“Blindspot” creator Martin Gero is looking to set up his next project at NBC.

Gero is teaming with “The 100” writer Drew Lindo to develop “No Stone Unturned,” a forensic drama which has received a script sale commitment at NBC.

Inspired by the book of the same name by Steve Jackson, “No Stone Unturned” centers around the NecroSearch international investigation team – a group of the nation’s top scientists, specialists and behaviorists – use the latest technology and the most advanced techniques to solve “unsolvable” crimes outside the justice system. Jackson’s book was a bestseller published back in 2003.

Gero and Lindo are both executive producing, with the latter serving as the main writer. The prospective series hails from Universal Television and Gero’s Quinn’s House production banner. Lindo previously sold “The Service” to Fox via Quinn’s House and Warner Bros. Television.

NBC has given a straight-to-series order to “Connecting,” a comedy about friends who stay in touch over video-chat as they navigate the new normal.

Universal Television will serve as the studio for the eight-episode series, which is written and executive produced by “Blindspot” creator Martin Gero and his frequent collaborator and fellow “Blindspot” writer and producer Brendan Gall.

The logline for the comedy series reads “An ensemble comedy about a group of friends trying to stay close (and sane) through video chats as they share the highs and lows of these extraordinary times.”

Under the major multi-year pact, which was negotiated before the start of the current Hollywood production shutdown, Gero will develop new series for Universal TV through his Quinn’s House production company. He is moving from his previous longtime studio home at Warner Bros. TV.

CBS All Access has given out a series order to the dark comedy series “Guilty Party” with Isla Fisher set to star, Variety has learned.

In the half-hour series, Fisher plays Beth Baker, a discredited journalist desperate to salvage her career by latching on to the story of a young mother sentenced to life in prison for maiming and murdering her husband, crimes she claims she didn’t commit. In trying to uncover the truth, Beth finds herself in over her head as she contends with Colorado gun-smugglers, clickbait culture, the doldrums of marriage and her own tarnished past.

Fisher will serve as executive producer in addition to starring. Rebecca Addelman serves as writer and executive producer. Sam Hansen, Jimmy Miller and Funny Or Die’s Joe Farrell, Jim Ziegler, and Mike Farah will also executive produce, with Joe Hardesty co-executive producing. Trent O’Donnell is set to direct and executive produce.
