Cursed

1 review

Lousy gender-bender

Vaguely covering the same ground as Blake Edwards' flop "Switch", Jonathan Morgan fashions a real clunker in "Cursed".

It opens with Ryan McLane trying out the lamest of lame pick-up lines at a bar, only to be instantly grabbed by brassy Britney Amber for a quick roll in the hay. After sex, Ryan, who is written as a truly detestable character for the hard of hearing in the audience, blows her off callously, and in return she casts a spell turning him into a woman.

Movie is all downhill from there, as the new Ryan, in the personage of Whitney Wright, is a poorly conceived and executed role, one of talented Whitney's worst performances. Morgan runs through the various cliches of this genre, and via Kitten Boheme's crummy script, even throws in a ridiculous scene of McLane suddenly showing up to have sex with himself, i.e., with Wright.

I enjoyed watching Alexa Grace as a tall beauty who goes to bed with Wright and later also services Lucas Frost, but otherwise this movie is a non-starter.
