Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn has started the shoot for his much-awaited movie ‘Raid 2’. The film, which is a sequel to the 2018 release ‘Raid’. The actor is reuniting with the director Raj Kumar Gupta for the sequel. Raj Kumar Gupta, who is also known for his breakout indie film ‘Aamir’ and the 2011 hit ‘No One Killed Jessica’, also directed ‘Raid’.

Expressing his excitement about performing for his fans during the festive season, Amit said: “It’s always wonderful to perform and celebrate Holi with the audiences and entertain them.”

Sharing about his live shows, he said how much he is enjoying these trips. “I have started with Ranchi, Delhi, and Ajmer today and will end this Holi celebration in Calicut. I am really enjoying visiting different cities, meeting different kinds of audiences, getting to know their tastes, and enjoying this festive vibe,” he added.

For any musician, live shows are an inspiration, as they help them stay connected with their audience and understand what they want.

He added: “I am thrilled to perform here in Ajmer.

With questions being raised on social media over his new movie "India's Most Wanted", director Raj Kumar Gupta insists no political intention has driven the narrative of the film, said to have a theme set in the era of Upa rule.

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan recently shared that through his upcoming film Secret Superstar he intends to highlight the message of equality between boys and girls in the society, something which he did in his last blockbuster film Dangal as well.

Talking about the similarity between the two films, producer Aamir said, “This film and Dangal, both are based on the same topic – which is changing the attitude towards girls. Treating girls equally as we treat our boys. This is again based on empowerment of the girl child.”

The Walt Disney Co (India) is scaling back its local-language production activities to focus on distributing its Hollywood slate in India, according to local press reports.

According to India’s Economic Times and other publications, the Us studio will also focus on building out its TV channels, licensing and merchandising activities in India, as the Bollywood business model becomes less viable.

Siddharth Roy Kapur, managing director of The Walt Disney Co (India), is understood to be leaving the studio at the end of the year when his contract expires.

Disney did not reply when Screen contacted the Los Angeles and Mumbai offices for comment.

Aamir Khan has always been known for his policy of making just one film a year. The perfectionist actor who will be seen later this year in the film Dangal has apparently signed his next which is titled Secret Superstar. In fact we hear that though Aamir Khan will not be playing the lead in the film, his role will not be a cameo either, but rather an important role of a music composer. Secret Superstar that will mark Aamir's manager Advait Chandan's directorial debut will revolve around a child and a mother, who are yet to be cast. Earlier titled Aaj Phir Jeene Ki Tamanna Hai, the film which has been renamed to Secret Superstar is said to be a musical with Amit Trivedi composing the tracks and Kausar Munir working on the lyrics. The film, which starts rolling in June, will have its first schedule in Baroda before shifting to Mumbai.

This is going to be the greatest merger-saga of Bollywood in recent times. Producer-director and owner of Dharma Productions Karan Johar is all set to join hands with Aamir Khan, Ronnie Screwvala (former founder of Utv), leading Mumbai distributor Anil Thadani and Siddharth Roy Kapur of Utv-Disney Films to combat what is secretly being referred to as the "multiplex monopoly." A source very close to the development says, "The idea behind the conglomerate being formed by these five seasoned entrepreneurs is to combat the monopolistic stronghold of the big multiplexes that virtually lay down ground rules about the terms and conditions for the release of films. The merger will endeavour to break the multiplex monopoly, bring the smaller multiplex chains into the picture, construct new theatres, create a financially feasible alternate outlet chain to the big multiplex chains." The quintet has already worked out all the nitty-gritty of the partnership.

While there have been several speculations about Aamir Khan's upcoming ambitious project Dangal, the film is all set to have an international connect. The film will feature real life wrestlers from all over the world to add authenticity to the plot.

Dangal is based on the life of Haryanvi wrestler Mahavir Phogat and the makers are trying to maintain the realistic quotient in the film. While the team has been shooting in Ludhiana and other locations, we hear that four international wrestlers too have landed in town for the film. These real life wrestlers hail from places like Africa, Poland, UK and others. From what we hear, 2 are from Poland, 1 from Cameron and 1 from UK. The film's crew is also looking after the needs of the international wrestlers who are supposedly staying with the unit in Ludhiana and Delhi.

The last few days, Bollywood has witnessed many a battleground wrt to the most overused term of this year: 'intolerance'. And the two Khans who were at the centre of the controversy were Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. But, this news is not their take on intolerance. A. Brothers collected Rs 83.5 crore in India and Rs 26.1 crore in the overseas markets. The worldwide gross of the film is 139.8 crore. Flop.

Q. What’s your take on the first look of Mr.Perfectionist’s Dangal? Did you like it? Is Dangal going to be another Rang De Basanti/Taare Zameen Par of Bollywood in terms of content? – Jazick

A. The response has been phenomenal. Any film that Aamir Khan does, creates tremendous curiosity amongst the audience. The effort that he’s been putting into Dangal seems to be 10x more than some of his previous films. That’s the perception that’s been creating in the media.

Kareena Kapoor Khan is annoyed, in fact super annoyed. Reason being that those unknown to her seem to know a lot more about the films that she is rejecting, the reasons behind that as well as the advice they are happy to give away freely about the career choices that she must be making. This, when they haven't gone through the scripts coming her way, the treatment a director has in mind to offer to a film, and the criteria that she has set for the movies that she wants to be a part of henceforth. No wonder, with the whole brouhaha around Section 84 and Kareena Kapoor Khan politely saying no to proceeding with the film, the lady is hardly left amused with her exit continuing to make news. Since the past couple of years, during major festivals like Eid, Diwali and Christmas, we have mostly seen films of Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan or Aamir Khan releasing.

We asked Queen director Vikas Bahl what he thinks of this trend for other producers and he said, "It's really good that all the Khans have blocked those dates because we all need the money to come into the industry. It's because of the money that we get to make films like Masaan. The good thing is that we have so many festivals in India and hopefully we will have more now like Mother's Day, Father's Day and we will keep on releasing more films. Hopefully Khans will not take away those festivals."

The recently held Iifa Awards in Malaysia, among other things, witnessed probably the best hosts in the history of any Bollywood award show. Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor came together to rock the Iifa stage and arguably bettered the Shah Rukh-Saif jodi as hosts is the general perception.

Ranveer and Arjun were invited by the organisers to host the show because the pairing had got so much love from the audience thanks to their incredible off screen camaraderie on first Koffee with Karan and then Comedy Nights with Kapil. And, of course, the hugely successful Aib Roast which broke the internet.

The boys prepared very hard for the evening, like no two stars have done for hosting an awards show. What’s more they went and took permissions before cracking jokes on other celebs. In fact when they started they first sweetly apologised to Aamir for the Aib Roast.

Just a few weeks ago on May 22, 2015 the film released in China and became an instant hit grossing Us$5.14 –$5.3 million in first three days of release due to good word-of-mouth – a record for an Indian film. Pk has became the highest-grossing Indian film in China in just 72 hours!
