This game what it would feel like if you took, Gears of War, Destiny and The Division and threw them together.
Sadly, it has worse cover mechanics then Gears, with a few enemy attacks straight up going through cover to hit you on the other side. It has more generic writing then Destiny 1 with a story that feels more generic than a Young Adult Fiction novel. It also has the same bullet sponge bosses that The Division is famous for.
The abilities start off cool but slowly loose pace with the rest of your arsenal, to the point where I am currently Level 19 and unable to kill normal ads with my abilities.
The character Look customization is lack luster as your truck you drive around in has deeper looks customization.
The skill tree for each class is expansive, with tiny upgrades leading to occasional bigger percentage and stat upgrades. That are separated into three categories for each class.
All of the guns in the game (As long as they are the same type) feel the same. A white assault rifle will feel no different from a purple besides the extra effects your bullets do.
Weapon upgrading and customization are actually quite decent, with the ability to spend materials to keep it up with current level gear or to change out the effects your bullets have on enemies.
There is no transmog in this game, so when you have high level gear, it is possible to look either cool or like you came out of a wardrobe wearing anything that stuck to you.
In short, if you have the Xbox Game Pass, I would recommend trying it since you can play for free. On any other platform, I would give it a pass and if you are still interested, buy it when it is on sale, that might help ease the disappointment.
