This game embodies everything a Resident Evil fan like me wants. A great use of survival horror, jumpscares, conservation of items, creepy characters and awesome boss fights. It's a perfect summation of everything that works about Resident Evil as a series. It tweaks and embraces these elements, all packed into one efficient, engrossing and utterly horrifying set of challenges. Resident Evil Village is definitely a huge contender for 2021 Game of the Year.

This is an amazing horror game and really brings a breath of fresh air to the franchise and judging by how good this game was it makes me really excited for what they will do with resident evil 4 remake but the one thing that makes this game so good and makes it stand out from the rest is the wide variety of monsters and bosses that keep you at the edge of your seat and make you scared of what will happen next if you have the opportunity to play this game u definitely should.

After a nice trip to hell (Louisiana), we find ourselves back into the boots of Ethan Winters, survivor extraordinaire. There's a nice recap for Biohazard and then the story starts off. I'm currently playing the game on an Xbox One X and it looks absolutely stunning. The village itself is a treat to wander through, with Castle Dimitrescu lurking on the snowy horizon. What really impressed me, both with Biohazard and Village, is the detail in indoor settings. Everything, from the decorations, to lighting and furniture, is beautiful when you're wandering the castle. The underground chasms of the castle are just as much fun to explore.
There was mild concern, on my part, that this game wouldn't be scary. Boy, was I wrong. I've scared people and pets in my house from yelling out of terror. Sometimes it'll be a jump scare and sometimes it'll be a hot 9'6" vampire chasing and calling your name. Either way, your palms will sweat and you'll yell for Ethan to hurry as you're pursued by scary enemies.
This game is a great addition to the Resident Evil series and as a longtime fan, I'm so happy. I hope the team at Capcom are kicking their feet on their desks and drinking Bloody Mary. Thank you for another great game!

This is a great game. It was lots of fun. I enjoyed the action in the game, fighting the monsters. The weapons in the game were cool. The Duke was awesome in the game. The villains were awesome. Lady Dimitrescu is a great antagonist in the castle section of the game, she is tall. The voice actor for the main character Ethan Winters was good. I came to really like Ethan in this game. He has become on of my favourite resident evil protagonists. The game had a twist near the end that really surprised me. The boss battles were fun and tense. The puzzles were good. The game has really nice graphics. The monsters were horrifying and creepy. The game is going on my favourites of the year list. An awesome game to play if you're a fan of horror.
I'm a massive fan of the RES series especially recently with the first person survival take on the game all the Lords are scary and unique im only 3 hours in and there's quite alot to do, the atmosphere within the village is erie and plays well when you have good headphones, I dare say I'm enjoying this as much as biohazard so far buy this game if you love pure survival horror/ RES fans.

I completed the game in one go. I just couldn't stop playing it. The art design in the castle is just breathtaking. Literally no loading time (I played on the ps5), the story is very interesting, the puzzles are fun fo complete, the graphics are gorgeous and the atmosphere is top class. My personal favourite Resident Evil game and one of the best games I ever played. 100% recommend it.

I'm going to go ahead and say that Resident Evil is one of my favorite game franchises out there and the remakes, while not perfect, were definitely a joy to play through. The Resident Evil movies are awful and ruined the image of the franchise for most people. Resident Evil VII and Resident Evil 2 Remake tried and succeeded at bringing the franchise's core elements to a massive and wider audience. And now we have Resident Evil Village, a game that not only allowed me to view this series with another eye, but allowed me to come and realize that this series has truly redeemed itself.
Resident Evil Village combines elements from Resident Evil VII and Resident Evil 4, and they have done a magnificently great job. The storytelling in this game is horrifying and reminded me a lot of The Haunting of Hill House and Bly Manor. The gameplay is addictive and feels easy for both old fans and newer fans. The atmosphere is definitely horror-filled and immersive. The voice acting is really good; it's like watching a new horror show that isn't cringe-worthy and lifeless. The music is satisfying to listen to, and it's one of the best soundtracks I've heard from this franchise.
It feels original and the replay-value is high with this game. Resident Evil Village is definitely a huge contender for 2021 Game of the Year. A lot of Resident Evil content over the years made it to the Game Awards. That alone makes me happy for the future of this franchise and what the future has in store for future horror games. This game is awesome and certainly worth your time and money!

I'm not going to lie, I was having hard time rating this game to 8 or 9 stars. This was a direction I didn't expect Capcom to take the series, and I wasn't on board with it at first but it grew on me. Resident Evil Village is, so far, one of the best video games of 2021. I always see the Resident Evil series having a story but focus on the little things and mostly focusing on the aspects of their games, RE VIII is has more story that balanced out the horror and action to its gameplay. It's one of the most interesting but bizarre experience to be ever play. There are some moments in the game where you'll be feeling like you're playing a different game which drags on for awhile and parts of the story will start giving you more questions with little answers to which is kinda the reason why I rated this game 8 stars. This was a fun Resident Evil game in the main series with a lot of replayability and seems like Capcom is creating a saga that will continue in future titles and I can't wait to see what they do next.
This game and RE4 are rather similar, having elements of a village, a castle and somewhat of an island and definitely retains the horror a bit more even with the added third person mode all the feelings of RE4 are there, again this is a love letter to RE4, but it's a good love letter, Capcom knew to show their love for the game and they did it in the best way possible.

Just completed this bloody game and man what a beautiful game it is...
From boss fights to exploration, from graphics to story everything about this game is wonderful. Mother Miranda is one of the hardest boss in the series, and the ending is superb...
Capcom made our days better...

This game was horrifying and fun all at the same time! It sadly will be the last we see of the Winters family as undisclosable plot events occur. You will see familiar faces in new ways. The resident evil/biohazard weirdness fans have come to know and love is very much present here.

This game was so amazing from the characters, the setting, the gameplay etc. This game is heavily inspired by Resident Evil 7 and 4 and it could not be better, definitely looking forward to the next game in the franchise.

The intro to this game is one of the best i have seen. The art design is great and there really is a lot of detail in the surroundings to get you fully immersed. This game definitely didnt have me sweating as much as RE7 or previous RE games. I think there is something about having more outdoor exploration that takes away a lot of the tension compared to the last game where you are trapped inside a house for the most part. Still had a few jumpscare moments though!
Despite the lower scare factor, this game is still a lot of fun. The puzzles are quite straightforward but with a lot of running items back and forth in order to progress. The 4 lords are great characters....i would have liked moreau and benevieto sections to have been a bit longer tbh. I feel like i wanted to explore those areas more.
The merchant is a welcome readdition to the series and i liked having more comtrol over weapons and inventory.
Overall, its definitely worth a play....even if you are not a big RE/horror fan.

Strong RE4 vibes. A perfect fallow up (maybe) to RE7. Just afraid that capcom will now mold every Re game after this one on this and stray further from pure survival horror like they did with RE7. Guess we'll see.

Resident Evil Village delivers both action and survival horror aspects of the franchise, maintaining its past glory. Ethan's adventure leaves you scared sh**less and awstruck by seemless game mechanics and entertaining puzzles mixed with intriguing story.

Where to begin? The graphics and lighting are superb, the combat is great with the variety of weapons. The story is in a new direction and ties in very nicely with the franchise.
What I loved about this game though was the variety of enemies and boss fights. It does have its horror elements thrown in and I have been a fan since the very first game and although there have been weaker entries this is definitely up there with the resi 2 remake and resi 4 the only thing that's missing is vr. But still a very impressive game not just from the franchise but in general, nice work capcom.

Makes up for RE 7's shortfalls and keeps things entertaining throughout. Exploring is as exciting as combat. Searching each room/area is surprisingly awesome. The enemy variety is exceptional. Environment and atmosphere is near perfection. The list goes on. One minor issue is the Duke. Otherwise RE Village belongs in the games hall of fame as one of the greatest.
I Wanna Say That I Loved Resident Evil 7 (2017) That It Became An Instant Classic Horror Video Game For Me, And That Resident Evil 8 Village (2021) Is A Masterpiece! Much Bigger And Feel Like An Open World And Until I Played To The End I Got To Understand All The Story👍🏼
Only shooting is there .. very less horor as comparison to other games like 4 or 7 ...
Story is there only but in resident evil series everyone looks for horror...
Here it was more like shooting.. you got big guns enemies are dumb then... The last boss fight was a joke literally... Miranda wasn't even powerful enough...
Hope next part will be more like resident evil 7.

Posted this on the PSVR2, and quite simply this is an absolute masterpeice, the best game I've ever played. The immersion, story, characters, action and horror are perfect, with the development of and intensity building throughout.
My only criticism would be that I can't forget the story and start again! The Heisenberg level in VR is like being at Universal Studios in Florida!!
Capcom really have created a truly brilliant experience with this title, and is a standout addition to the franchise, with RE4 VR on its way hopefully this will continue for years to come.
Absolute superb in every way.
