Just the catering budget for this film alone exceeded the entire budget of Neil Johnson's second film, To Become One (2002).

Neil Johnson's first Hollywood-produced film takes place in the same universe as his previous films Battlespace (2006) and Nephilim (2007), but is not considered a sequel, but an expansion on his vision with a much larger budget.

Jay Laisne, the lead actor, did all his own stunts in the film.

The "vessels" are remiscent of German WWII Type VIIc submarines.
