Doors are symbolic in PULLED FROM DARKNESS. Often, when a door is in the background or a character walks through a door, an important decision is about to be made.
PULLED FROM DARKNESS is inspired by a true miraculous story about how God enlisted dozens of unlikely people to help reunite a women with her missing children. Director George A. Johnson often adds subtext to his films so whenever someone is "activated" in this miraculous journey, a telephone rings, and they answer the call. "Answering the call" is a common term for being obedient to a prompting from God.
The sign on the bar door that Razmig flees from says "Do not enter. Use another door."
