Actors now have their answer to “Showrunners,” the recently released documentary about TV writers and producers that included interviews with Steven S. DeKnight and J.J. Abrams. Instead of the writer’s room, “Showing Up” provides an “unprecedented” look at the audition. Married co-directors Riad Galayini and James Morrison, both actors themselves, compiled the narrative “from more than 50 interviews with notable artists including: Kristin Chenoweth, Richard Griffiths, Zoe Kazan, Nathan Lane, Chris Messina, Sam Rockwell, Bill Irwin and Eli Wallach.” It screens Nov. 21-23 at Arena Cinema in Hollywood. Glee Shines At TV.Com Now Awards
TV musical Glee was the big winner at the TV.com Now Awards on Friday as fans voted it the Funniest New Show on the small screen.
The all-singing, all-dancing series, about a high school show choir, saw off competition from sitcoms Community, Modern Family and The Middle to take home the prize.
Jane Lynch, who plays Glee's acid-tongued cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester, was given the Makes Me Laugh Just By Showing Up honour, while Kristin Chenoweth was named the Guest Star We Wish Stayed Around Longer for her cameo.
True Blood lovers Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer were named the Sexiest TV Couple, while their co-star Alexander Skarsgard's vampire role earned him the Best Performance of a Non-Human Character statue.
The ceremony, held in San Diego, California to coincide with Comic-Con 2010, also saw former Lost star Daniel Dae Kim accept the Saddest Goodbye trophy for the desert island drama, which went off the air in May.
Kim was also victorious - he was named the Actor We Can't Wait to See Back on TV ahead of his role as Chin Ho Kelly on the upcoming Hawaii Five-o remake.
