- TriviaBelieved to be developed as a prototype based on the 2008 film "The Incredible Hulk", hence the title. Radical Entertainment previously developed "Hulk", based on the Ang Lee film and "The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction". However, Sega owns the video game rights to the Marvel character and Radical Entertainment started to develop the title into an original IP, with gameplay mechanics similar to "Ultimate Destruction".

The plot of the game fascinates with its dark style and unexpected twists. The main character named Alex Mercer is trying to figure out who is behind his transformation into a living weapon, while simultaneously trying to regain his lost memory. The story develops through scenes, flashbacks, and dialogues with key characters. The story retains interest, although closer to the finale it sometimes seems a little delayed.
The mechanics of the game are one of the main advantages of Prototype. The player is offered almost unlimited freedom of action. The protagonist has incredible mobility: he easily jumps on buildings, hovers over streets and rapidly descends, breaking the asphalt. These movements are somewhat reminiscent of games about Spider-Man or Batman, but they are made with much more brutality. Exploring an interactive city is interesting: you can destroy objects, create chaos, or just watch the life of a megalopolis gradually sinking into madness. And the plot will contribute to the escalation of chaos.
The fights in the game are real bloody shows. Alex has many unique attacks, and each new ability adds variety to the game. The leveling system allows you to enhance your character by unlocking abilities such as giant claws, tentacles that turn everything into a bloody mess, or super-powerful blows that take down entire groups of enemies. These "supervaflies" set the heat.
The missions in the game are quite diverse, but over time they begin to repeat themselves. Chasing, destroying enemies, protecting objects - all this is done interestingly, but sometimes there is a feeling of monotony. However, thanks to the freedom to choose tactics, you can find different approaches, which helps to cope with the routine.
In the second half of the game, the difficulty increases: there are more enemies, they are stronger and more aggressive. This adds to the challenge, although sometimes it turns battles into real torture. However, colorful battle scenes and a sense of hero power compensate for the difficulty.
"Prototype" is a game that impresses with its freedom of action, exciting battles and unique atmosphere. Despite its flaws, it remains one of the most vivid memories.
