Being a fan of both good short films and the greatest game ever: "Wiffle Ball". I have to say I was eager to learn that there was a film made about the sport. I watched this originally at its premiere at the Delray Beach Film Festival awhile ago, and recently again on you-tube, and its just awesome. The idea is simple, the execution is flawless. The setting is absolutely gorgeous: A beautiful beautiful beautiful backyard, (which I am guessing is in New England because the trees and leaves on the ground are a color that could only be New England in the absolute peak of autumn.) The acting is perfect, the camera, audio, editing its all technically sound. so it just allows you to watch this great little short. in fact the only negative thing I can say about the film is that its very very short. maybe too short. i don't even think its 4 minutes long. and your having such a fun time enjoying the situation that when it ends, even though your laughing...you kinda want to watch more. I dunno, I don't want to go on and on about the film, but I will...its solid. its short and sweet and well made. I will also say that I have been to many film festivals and its not that I am sick of all the foreign exploration crap out there, or super intense weirdly interpretive stuff thats made only because thats all people can afford to make, its just rare to see a good cool comedy. Wiffle Ball!!
