It's been over 20 years since I sat through a Power Ranger Episode.
Starting back during the MMPR and the Turbo series those were shows that made my childhood special. Sure, watching reruns I can say damn these shows are corny to the max. Okay, it's a kids show...However.
Power Rangers Dino Fury is basically the same as all the rest. It has a few differences, but the whole concept is the same. It follows the same formula from 30 years ago. This series is about once again the same plot as the other series. Random teenagers are selected to be PR, they fight, get Zords, bad guy fails 10 times out of 10 and little children enjoy the fighting.
I didn't see the previous series or anything after Turbo, so I can't fully compare it, common sense is they were all the same at the end of the day.
Dino Fury is a fun little corny show. The show is so corny that I thought I saw literal corn growing within the show. The acting standards is of an infomercial actor. The fighting is cool. The story is generic. The villains are generic, however they look more badace than before. The main villain looks so cool. All power rangers are corny verbally, physically and when they morph. Damn and Pink Ranger has a phatty. I'd choose her over Kimberly any day. In all honest Kimberly was a 6-7. Her looks were overrated in my opinion. Yellow Ranger was more beautiful. Anyways...
Power Rangers Dino Fury overall is a corny show and I'm able to overlook its flaw and enjoy what it has to offer. It's by far way better quality wise than MMPR (It should be). I just hate PRDF morphin sequence. The villains always wait for them to complete their transformation. HAHA!
Lastly, people will say PR is just a "kid show" that's why its so corny. Look, Disney movies aren't that corny, DreamWorks movies aren't horrible corny, Children tv shows aren't corny so why does something like Power Rangers need to be so corny and it does not reflect the time/behaviour that people are living like today. I'm not saying add swearing and have someone one roll a sliff.
I think the writing can use some work where it has Power Rangers who behave like jerks at the same time they do the right thing. Or have a kid friendly Tony Stark like personalities. Or a loner Power Ranger trying to fit in. The current personalities that are used in Power Rangers today is the same back during MMPR. The members of the power Rangers just seem too perfect in terms of life. They need a Spider-Man like Power Ranger where they juggle saving the world and life.
Last Words:
I write this review on the day Thuy Trang passed away. I did not realize until I searched her on Google. It was so weird how I returned to the Power Rangers literally 20 years later today (September 3 2021) that she passed away.
I almost cried realizing that because it was so strange.
