Once a ubiquitous mobile game, Crossy Road broke new ground with its simple yet addictive gameplay. Tapping to guide characters across perilous roads, the hit title inspired countless hours of commitment from players determined to see what secrets lay just beyond the next traffic jam. When developer Hipster Whale announced the next evolution, transporting this enduring concept to an all-new 3D platforming format, anticipation was high.
Crossy Road Castle retains the bite-sized levels and constantly increasing challenges of its predecessor but reframes the action around navigating intricate castles rather than road-crossing. Each castle presents a wealth of themed rooms to discover on the climb to new levels, with procedurally generated layouts ensuring no two plays feel quite the same. Colorful bosses and cunning puzzles dot the journey, while regular shops offer chances to regain strength or snag new hats.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has a plethora of demons to choose from, and among them, the twelve kizuki are the strongest. Nakime is the Upper Rank 4 demon and also the strongest female demon present (except Nezuko), with the power to control the Infinity Castle. Yet, some fans have pointed out her low kill count.
As a demon, she was never portrayed to have killed anyone in the series. Yet, she is one of the strongest demons and is the only Upper Rank who survived the longest in the series finale. Muzan was also quite satisfied with her performance until the final arc of Demon Slayer.

Exclusive: Is systemic racism still a thing?
The short answer is yes. And for the long answer, well, that’s something that Jason George and Todd Grinnell are unpacking in a video from Hollywood, Health & Society and USC Annenberg’s Norman Lear Center, which Deadline is debuting exclusively.
“[Racism is] still baked into our society, certainly on a personal level, but on a systemic level, these laws that were created after slavery was abolished to keep former slaves from being able to advance in society, were baked in to our systems, and still are there,” Kate Folb, director of Hollywood, Health & Society, told Deadline.
She revealed it took nearly a year to get the script right for the 9-minute video in which the two actors take viewers from the Civil War to modern day, illustrating how racism and the desire to protect slavery influenced the laws and systems that still control the United States today.

Demon Slayer is one of the most popular anime franchises ever, with over 200 million copies sold. The franchise recently finished airing season 4, which became a massive hit. Even though the manga concluded in 2020, its popularity has always been on the rise. One of the best things about Demon Slayer is the antagonist, Kibutsuji Muzan.
Kibutsuji Muzan is the Demon King, who is the main target of the demon slayers. He is the sole reason why the Demon Slayer Corp was created in the first place. His intelligence is unparalleled, but there is only one incident where his emotions got the better of him. Muzan has always been a rational character, but fans believe killing his doctor is the only time he regretted taking a life.

It's been over 20 years since One Tree Hill made its television premiere on The WB and over 10 years since the beloved series came to an end on The CW. Time has only made fans adore the show more and more, and there's finally some good news on the potential future of the series: Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton Morgan are working on a sequel series at Netflix!
Before we get too excited about the prospect of returning to Tree Hill two decades later, it's the perfect time to look back at original cast members and celebrate their generation-defining series. One Tree Hill helped launch the careers of Chad Michael Murray, Hilarie Burton Morgan, Sophia Bush, James Lafferty, and Bethany Joy Lenz, and they're all still beloved today.
If you're diving back into your millionth rewatch of One Tree Hill (no judgment!), you're probably wondering how old the actors were compared to their teen characters.

Fielding questions about Kubi, a period piece chronicling a few years of internecine feudal wars in 16th-century Japan, Takeshi Kitano dismissed some rumors he’d stoked. The film wasn’t going to be his last, as he’d previously suggested. In fact, he was already working on the next, a parody that would explore “the theme of comedy within violent movies.” I have no way of knowing when exactly the director will choose to put an end to a career that’s spanned four decades––the man is so prolific and allergic to stasis you’d expect him to keep working till the very last breath. But there’s something about his latest, Broken Rage, that makes it an apt summation of his cinema, and a farewell-of-sorts; hidden behind its farcical facades is the specter of a filmmaker revisiting his entire canon, leitmotifs, and style.

Fillion has made more than a comfortable living for himself thanks to his several television and film projects. He got his first official acting job on the soap opera One Life to Live. He was a cast member on the show for three years before branching out to other projects, further expanding his portfolio. At one point, he considered Castle and Firefly his more famous roles. But this was before being cast as the lead on The Rookie. The ABC procedural has been running for six seasons and is still going strong, perhaps exposing Fillion to an even broader audience.

Exclusive: Following Lionsgate’s acquisition of eOne, Lionsgate Television has moved in to retain the top TV creator on eOne’s roster, Alexi Hawley, signing a premium overall deal with the creator/executive producer of two of eOne’s three ongoing premium scripted series, The Rookie on ABC, starring Nathan Fillion, and The Recruit on Netflix, headlined by Noah Centineo, as well as a hot new drama Lionsgate has out in the marketplace, The Envoy.
Hawley had emerged as the most prolific creator at eOne where he had two back-to-back overall deals, the most recent of which, signed in 2022, carried over to Lionsgate after the merger. In addition to The Rookie, which is headed to its seventh season, and The Recruit, going into Season 2, he also was behind spinoff The Rookie: Feds, which aired on ABC for one season, a run that was cut short at least in part by the strikes.

Demon Slayer’s plot follows a singular pattern where the entire Demon Slayer Corp is trying to eradicate the Demons and their leader, Kibutsuji Muzan. Currently, the latter is the strongest individual in the Demon Slayer, but there is only one person who makes him experience fear. Yoriichi Tsugikuni scarred him for life when he almost killed him.
Muzan somehow managed to escape, leaving his servant alone. Seeing how much she hated Muzan, Yorrichi decided to spare her life. Centuries later, the servant became one of the greatest assets for the Demon Slayer Corps. She even helped Nezuki turn back into a human. Sparing Lady Tamayo was the smartest move in the anime.

Actor Nathan Fillion wasn’t out of work for too long after the Castle series finale. He migrated to another hit show in The Rookie, whose success matched and perhaps even surpassed Castle’s. But initially, doing another network series wasn’t what he had in mind before Rookie came along.
What Nathan Fillion initially wanted to do after ‘Castle’ ended Nathan Fillion | Scott Everett White/Getty Images
Castle was one of Fillion’s most successful shows, enjoying high ratings at its peak and lasting for eight seasons. But while the series was still running, Fillion felt the show didn’t have to arrive at a natural conclusion. Similar to other long-running procedurals, he believed that Castle could run indefinitely, with the show’s lifespan being up to the showrunners.
“I’m going to reserve my opinion for the future. I’m going to just kick back and wait and watch and see what happens.

The Summer Olympics may be well underway in Paris, but the real games — Squid Game that is — are heading our way this winter. In a surprise drop teaser for the second season of writer-director-producer Hwang Dong-hyuk satirical Netflix K-Drama, the streaming giant confirmed that the Lee Jung-jae starring death-match gameshow series will return on Boxing Day this year, 26 December. But whilst the return of the global phenomenon after three long years off our screens is incredibly exciting, the new release date announcement also brought with it the bittersweet news that though a third season of the show has been greenlit and confirmed to land on Netflix in 2025, it will also be the Hunger Games-meets-Takeshi's Castle style saga's final chapter. Check out the teaser below:
It may only be 56 seconds long, but with an Olympic-aping starting blocks open, those all-too-familiar green tracksuits coming tumbling down, and the Front...

Spoilers for "Deadpool & Wolverine" follow.
"Deadpool & Wolverine" is a road trip buddy comedy through the multiverse, where Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) meets many variants of himself. One especially weird member of the Deadpool Corps is Headpool, an undead head from the "Marvel Zombies" universe (he gets around by wearing an automated propeller head). Headpool's voice actor is none other than Nathan Fillion, beloved in geek circles for playing Captain Mal Reynolds on "Firefly" and known outside of them for "Castle."
During the 2000s, Fillion was one of nerds' favorite fancasts to star in a superhero movie -- particularly "Green Lantern," a role that instead went to a pre-"Deadpool" Reynolds. (Fillion settled for voicing Hal Jordan in some animated DC movies.)
While he's not the superhero star his fans wanted him to be, Fillion has popped up in the MCU — three times before playing Headpool, in fact. He...

The 1997 movie awards season was shaping up to be surprisingly competitive in the early fall of that year. "L.A. Confidential," "Boogie Nights," and "The Sweet After" were making serious noise, while summer sleepers "The Full Monty" and "Ulee's Gold" appeared likely to stay in the picture as everyone awaited the arrival of presumed heavy hitters like Steven Spielberg's "Amistad," James L. Brooks' "As Good as It Gets," and Quentin Tarantino's "Jackie Brown." But when James Cameron's "Titanic," a wildly expensive coin flip from a director best known for popcorn flicks, began screening for critics and guilds in early November, everything clicked into place. The boat movie was an Oscar lock for Best Picture and Director, "As Good as It Gets" had Best Actor and Actress sewn up, and everyone else was playing for the honor to be nominated.

Exclusive: Veteran CAA television agent Ted Miller is leaving to start a global management business. He just shared the news with his colleagues. Details about his new company will be unveiled at a later date.
The exit ends a 35-year agenting career at CAA for Miller, who started in the mailroom in 1988 before becoming an assistant to agency co-founder Michael Ovitz and getting promoted to agent in 1989.
For decades, there had been a handful of TV lit-driven management companies. Over the last several years, their number more than doubled as a slew of top TV agents launched new management firms. Miller is one of the biggest names yet to make the switch.
During his tenure at CAA, he has represented top TV showrunners, producers and directors and has held a string of TV leadership positions, most recently as Head of Global Television. He also was instrumental in putting together such series as Black Mirror,...

Filmmaker Mike Flanagan has written some dark, disturbing endings in his career… but we shouldn’t expect to see much of that from him in the future. During a recent interview with actress Katee Sackhoff for the Sackhoff Show podcast, Flanagan explained why he’s done with bleak, hopeless endings.
Flanagan told Sackhoff (with thanks to Cbr for the transcription), “A lot of the stuff I was writing had really bleak endings and very hopeless endings. It pivots right after [Hill House] and everything I’ve done since then doesn’t have that.” Sackhoff asked if that’s the influence of his wife Kate Siegel coming through, and Flanagan said, “I think in a lot of ways it is. Nathan Fillion didn’t find himself stranded for too long after the finale of his hit series Castle, soon jumping into another big TV show, The Rookie, in 2018. Six seasons later, The Rookie is still going strong, with Season 7 in development currently, and after the downfall of the previous entry, the show’s creators are adamant about not repeating their mistakes in the future.
The Rookie S6 Messed Up Its Structure
There are essentially only two TV show structures for any series to choose from. The serialized format suggests one big continuity, with all episodes following the same story — whereas the episodic format suggests that every episode has a standalone little story, often with an overarching plot connecting them to one major storyline.
The Rookie was famously an episodic show for five first seasons, but for Season 6, the showrunners decided to switch things up and opted for the serialized approach.

From his early work like the Roger Corman-produced “Hollywood Boulevard” and the found footage extravaganza “The Movie Orgy” to the deliriously self-referential “Gremlins” films and “Looney Tunes: Back in Action,” Joe Dante has always been one of the most cine-literate of all directors, a filmmaker preoccupied with our relationship to the movies we watch and with cinema’s larger role in the culture. Dante’s 1993 comedy “Matinee” is possibly his greatest film in this regard, a meditation on the role horror movies play in our lives and a love letter to the people who make them. It follows a few days in the lives of kids who live on a Florida military base during the buildup to the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962; as the terror of the real world increases, they take refuge in the monster movies of Lawrence Woolsey (John Goodman), a producer who arrives in town to screen his latest horror flick,...

The power scaling in Dragon Ball is undoubtedly one of the most spread out. Akira Toriyama created a wide variety of forms and moves to make sure no amount of power creep would keep him from exploring more of what his characters could do. The potential is only limited to the mind, if you are a writer as creative as Toriyama.

It goes without saying that when it comes down to one of the most talented and entertaining ensembles on network television, The Rookie is going for the prize.
In an age when ensembles face a litany of casting issues, shifts, changes, and cutbacks, The Rookie has remained intact with little issue.
And while the cast has evolved over the years, it has found a relatively consistent rhythm.

Made in the immediate wake of the Cold War’s end, Joe Dante’s 1993 comedy Matinee is informed by the nuclear panic that defined the conflict for generations. Throughout, the film foregrounds the incredible terror and anxiety of knowing that total oblivion could be a moment away, and how those fears can be mitigated by escapism.
Dante establishes the latter first, opening on a movie theater in 1962 Key West where a predominantly young audience watches a schlocky B movie about a man morphed into an ant by nuclear radiation. We’ve previously heard cast member David Dastmalchian (Late Night with the Devil) describe the film as a beautiful, heartfelt drama – and now Dastmalchian’s co-star Karen Gillan (Guardians of the Galaxy) has told Movieweb that The Life of Chuck is a beautiful masterpiece.
Based on the short story from King’s 2020 anthology If It Bleeds, The Life of Chuck consists of three separate stories linked to tell the biography of Charles Krantz in reverse, beginning with his death from a brain tumor and ending with his childhood in a supposedly haunted house.

If you have already seen If, it’s high time to revise Ryan Reynolds’ filmography. He is recognized for his superhero flicks, with 2016’s Deadpool standing out, action movies such as Free Guy (2021), and dramatic performances in Buried (2010) and Life (2017).
It’s also common knowledge that Reynolds is no stranger to comedies, even if we take his Deadpool into account. However, few fans know that back in 1998, the actor starred in an ABC sitcom that became a significant jumpstart for his successful career.
The series’ plot revolves around Berg (played by Reynolds) and Pete, two college graduates who share an apartment and work at a local pizzeria. They can’t imagine their life without the help of their neighbor and former collegemate, Sharon, who gives the boys advice on literally all spheres of life, including their romantic exploits, of course.
Although this synopsis seems to be banal, the show kills...

At long last, Eddie Murphy is reprising his role as street-smart cop Axel Foley in the fourth instalment of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise, which is set to hit Netflix this summer. But, it isn’t easy being a middle aged action star. It’s been nearly thirty years since we last saw Eddie Murphy as Axel Foley, and in a recent interview with People Magazine he admitted that the shoot was a “rough one”.“I did Axel Foley when I was in my 20s. I am not in my 20s anymore,” he said. At any rate, Murphy won’t be the only aged actor from the original to show up, with many of the classic Beverly Hills Cop cast members are set to join him in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley. It’s easy to see why Fillion would be recognized for Castle. The show was a hit on the network series ABC during its original run. But surprisingly, Firefly might’ve rivaled Fillion’s Castle fame even at the peak of the show’s run. Firefly only lasted for one season from 2002 to 2003. Whereas Castle had a long eight-season run.

Not only Netflix, but also networks like ABC are notorious for canceling shows right after the first season. And since networks and streaming services don't always reveal the details of why a new show was canceled, viewers are left to deal with the fact.
At the same time, most of the projects that go under the knife are, frankly, not so very impressive. At the same time, there are also popular series that get positive reviews from viewers, but are still axed after the first season. And one of such cases is the fantasy drama Forever.
Forever Was an Unexpected Success
When Forever prepared to hit the small screen in 2014, many viewers considered the concept of the series a failure. The main character is immortal, and eternal life has been his curse for two and a half centuries.
All this time, he lost loved ones and tried to find the reason for his long life.
