The leather workshop characters are based on real people Jeff Gallea worked with during his time in the leather trade. The real Jinx, based on Gus Duarte, died in a motorcycle crash in 2016. The real Belt Boss, based on Christian Audigier, died of cancer in 2015. The workshop has since closed but the characters remain in memory through this film.
