The pilot "Monster Pack" was produced as part of the Nickelodeon Animated Shorts Program, but Nickelodeon declined to turn the pilot into a full series. Instead, the Canadian studio Nelvana picked up the show and produced it from their offices in Toronto.
The show started out as a mid 2010s short film, Monster Pack.
The character, Dahlia, was partially inspired by Mega Man character, ProtoMan. Both wear sunglasses and sometimes aid the protagonists.
Cleo didn't appear in the pilot.
