Long before Antony Starr became the twisted face of The Boys as Homelander, there was one project he just couldn’t resist. Starr was so captivated by it that he did whatever it took to be part of it—and it turned out to be the role that shot him to stardom.

This wasn’t just any gig. It was the part that put him on the map and hinted at the edgy, intense performances he’s now famous for. So, what role had Starr going all-in before he ever donned that cape?

The data from Parks Associates shows how successful Amazon’s strategy of distributing Prime Video alongside Prime has been.
The current prevailing wisdom in streaming analysis is that the marketplace will continue to shift until there are just a few, giant-sized streaming services left. Companies with a large customer count have the edge, particularly those with big subscriber bases in the United States. New data from Parks Associates continues to point to Netflix, Prime Video and Disney streamers as the biggest in the U.S., showing they could have a big leg up on the competition in the future.
Key Details: Prime Video continues to be the largest streamer in the U.S., after supplanting Netflix in 2022. Disney+ rose to third on the list for the first time since 2021, beating out Hulu this year. Peacock cracked the top five of U.S. streamers in Parks’ latest report. 30-Day Free Trial...

Sorry, Henry Cavill! People Magazine keeps forgetting the Man of Steel actor every year when they prepare the shortlist for Sexiest Man Alive. Supernatural fans would also be disappointed that Jensen Ackles never made it to the top of the list either. But fans are furious that one celebrity is being considered for the Sexiest Man Alive, completely out of the bluw.

It is highly offensive that people dislike the idea of Benny Blanco making it to the list. Selena Gomez found him attractive and their relationship is going strong as ever. But it can be deduced that the fans are misdirecting their anger at Blanco when they should be really questioning People for ignoring fan-favorite choices.

Find out everything you need to know about the new series before it becomes available below.

The Boys is one of the best shows on Prime Video right now. The problem is there are four seasons that are eight episodes long, and that’s it. You’ll get through that fast!
You can watch Gen V, the spin-off of the series. Again, there’s one season of that right now. It doesn’t take long to work through it. So, you need to find more shows that are like The Boys to watch.
This is a series that is more than just superheroes and vigilantes going up against each other. There are elements that touch on real-world politics, a discussion about relationships, and a touch on grief and loss throughout the series. There isn’t quite something that will check every single box at the same time, but there are some great shows out there that work for many.

Over the years, Jeffrey Dean Morgan has worn many faces. He has been a figment of Billy Butcher’s imagination; he has been a psychopath among The Walking Dead, a horrible father to Sam and Dean Winchester, and even starred in the occasional rom-com. However, many may think that his career trajectory did not start when he played John Winchester in Supernatural.

Although Morgan has played many iconic characters in his career, the very first role that can be labeled as the same has to be Denny Duquette in Grey’s Anatomy. Playing the character in three seasons of the series, he was beloved in more ways than one.
During an interview, Morgan talked about how starring in the series made him a heartthrob and kick-started his career into what it is today.

As we move closer to the end of 2024, now is the perfect time to look back at some of the worst shows of the year. It has been a fruitful year for TV watchers, particularly those who prefer to stream their series. We’ve seen an interesting mix of new shows and the anticipated return of old favorites. Still, this doesn’t mean they have all been winners.
Before we share which shows have been the most disappointing, let’s give recognition to some of the many series we’ve enjoyed the most. At the top of my list, I have Apple TV+’s Presumed Innocent, Prime Video’s Fallout, and Hulu’s The Bear season 3. I know Netflix’s Baby Reindeer also received a lot of attention, as well as the returning Prime Video favorite, The Boys with season 4. Which shows have made it to your favorites list so far?...

For some fans of genre storytelling, 2024 has been a bit of a disappointing year. The Boys season 4 didn't over with fans quite as well as past installments, the House of the Dragon showrunners are feuding publicly with George R.R. Martin, and the latest Star Wars content from Disney+ — The Acolyte — was extremely divisive among fans. Since these were some of the most highly anticipated and high-budget genre series of the year, it has left many fans of genre storytelling feeling a bit morose. There have been bright spots: the historical fiction series Shogun crushed it at the Emmy’s and I personally am really enjoying the return of The Legend of Vox Machina. But whether because of last year’s acting and writer’s strikes or because new seasons of shows are taking longer than ever to reach our screens, 2024 is definitely not the year that it could have been.

Supernatural was one of the fantasy drama TV series that reigned over the small screen for years. The show focused on the Winchester Brothers, Sam and Dean portrayed by Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles respectively.
The demon hunting duo became immensely popular with the audience, and fans of the series were charmed by their bromance. It seemed like the actors were best of friends even off the screen, but one incident brought a new angle to the story. In 2021, Padalecki posted a tweet calling out his co-star for not being approached for his Supernatural prequel, leading fans to believe the pair were not in good terms.

Each week, we handpick a selection of stories to give you a snapshot of trends, updates, business moves, and more from around the creator industry. This week, Kai Cenat’s Twitch sub-a-thon has stirred up drama, and the presidential election has sent some stocks soaring.
Creator commotion
The unwitting star of Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon is Halle Bailey’s infant son. The younger half of Chloe x Halle was initially incensed that ex-partner Ddg brought their child Halo onto Cenat’s blockbuster stream, though she later said she “overreacted.” Halle may be ahead of her time; there’s a lot of talk right now about the morality of children’s on-camera appearances.
Casey Neistat’s David Dobrik doc may never see the light of day. Neistat is conflicted about a project that started as a celebration of Dobrik’s career but was complicated by numerous controversies orbiting the former Vlog Squad member.

The closer one looks at "Bones," the more one begins to wonder if everything really does come back to Hart Hanson's long-lived rom-com/gnarly crime procedural. From multiple "Breaking Bad" actors showing up as guest stars to Kevin Yagher, the legendary creature designer who co-wrote Tim Burton's "Sleepy Hollow," playing a key creative role behind-the-scenes on the series with his brother Chris Yagher, it seems as though our plane of existence is merely a tangled web with "Bones" at the center. Were the show to somehow be lost to the ravages of time like so much older media has been, it's possible our reality as we know it would collapse. Clearly, we should stop playing Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon and start playing Six Degrees of Bones instead.

The contract includes a clause that allows Amazon to distribute NBA games via new models in the future.
Despite a desperate lawsuit by Warner Bros. Discovery to keep live NBA games out of Amazon’s hands, all signs point to the e-retailer becoming an NBA broadcast partner in 2025-26. Amazon’s 11-year deal with the NBA will see it pay nearly $2 billion per season for a package of regular season and playoff games, but until now few other details about the contract between the two have been revealed. Now, more information about the deal is available, including an intriguing “Successor Technology” clause that could lead to trouble between the new partners in the future.
Key Details: The Successor Technology stipulation allows Amazon to distribute NBA games via new methods should they emerge in the coming years. The NBA cannot unreasonably object to these methods, or add new costs to its deal with Amazon.

The genre of horror films has been around for a very long time. Despite shocking and frightening audiences, this genre is very popular, and some filmmakers have made a living by creating horror films, especially after Alfred Hitchcock took the genre to new heights.
Wes Craven, John Carpenter, and George Romero are regarded as classics, but there are also a number of up-and-coming filmmakers who want to make a career in the genre.
One of them is Drew Hancock, whose upcoming sci-fi horror Companion is set to be released early next year, although we’ve just received news that the movie is being pushed back, although not by much.
As Bloody Disgusting reports, Companion has been pushed back from its initial January 10 release date, but it is still going to air in the same month, so everyone who’s expecting to see this movie won’t have to wait much...

Amazon‘s latest use of generative AI will be applied to its library of Prime Video originals. Thanks to a new feature called X-Ray Recaps, viewers will be able to catch up on what they missed before diving back into their favorite shows.
The recaps are built into X-Ray, the overlay Amazon Prime Video uses to identify actors as they appear on screen. The tech giant used a combination of multiple generative AI models — including those powered by Aws’ Amazon Bedrock and others trained on Amazon SageMaker — to integrate automated episode summaries into Prime Video hits like The Boys, Upload, and The Wheel of Time.
Episode summaries have never been hard to find on the internet, but the era of generative AI has unlocked new potential for customization within that format. YouTube has harnessed AI to summarize its videos, and Amazon believes that X-Ray Recaps can improve synopses in a number of ways.

Warner Bros. Discovery has in charge of operating the channel since 2008, but once the two sides split up next year its fate is in doubt.
By all indications, the NBA and Warner Bros. Discovery are headed for a divorce. The Association’s new media rights deals set to take hold in the 2025-26 season don’t include a package for TNT for the first time in decades, and though Wbd is trying to sue to claim its right to match an offer for a parcel of games was unfairly disregarded, the writing seems to be on the wall. You might think that The Gilded Age, HBO's mannered period drama about feather-light conflict between members of the upper crust in 1880s New York City, doesn't have anything in common with Gen V, a spinoff of The Boys where college students get their heads lasered off by sociopathic superheroes. And you'd be right...except for one thing: both of them are greatly expanding their casts ahead of their new seasons: that's season 3 for The Gilded Age and season 2 for Gen V.
Let's start with The Gilded Age, which counts the likes of Carrie Coon, Morgan Spector, Louisa Jacobson, Denee Benton, Taissa Farmiga, and Harry Richardson among its cast. Deadline reports on six new cast members coming aboard for season 3, some of them playing real-life figures from the time:

Tonight is all about Election Night. That means all the broadcast networks are airing coverage. It is an important night, but that doesn’t mean you need to keep watching the specials. You’ve voted, and you can get the results on your phone. You want to find something else to watch tonight.
The good news is that there are streaming services out there. They have you covered so you don’t need to check out the broadcast Election coverage.
We do recommend remaining on brand for the night, though. Here are five shows to check out.

One cool feature that’s relatively unique to Amazon Prime Video is the streamer’s X-Ray feature, which pops up the name of an actor or the music you’re currently hearing or seeing on screen when you pause the show. No need to go to IMDb to figure out where you recognize that guy from or to Shazam that song — so long as you’re actually watching a show or movie on Amazon.
Now Amazon Prime Video is extending that X-Ray feature a step further by summarizing full episodes or even entire seasons of TV through the push of a button. The company is calling it “X-Ray Recaps,” and it’s available now in Beta version on Amazon MGM Originals and for Fire TV users specifically.

X-Ray Recaps will use generative AI to help viewers catch up on an episode, season or show without worrying about spoilers.
Obviously, the best way to get caught up on a TV series you’re a few episodes behind on is to go back and watch. But we don’t live in a perfect world; people have lives and responsibilities, and that doesn’t always leave time for viewers to go back and watch every episode of a show to get caught up. Prime Video knows that which is why it has announced the release of its new “X-Ray Recaps” feature, allowing viewers to catch up to exactly the point they need to in a given show.
Key Details: X-Ray Recaps uses generative AI to create synopses for TV episodes, shows, and seasons. Customers can choose to recap up to a specific point in a single episode if they choose and expand from there.

Amazon has turned to AI to create recaps for TV shows on Prime Video — starting with its own original series — in a way the company says won’t risk revealing spoilers.
On Monday, Amazon announced X-Ray Recaps on Prime Video, touting the generative-ai-based feature as “delivering a new way to get up to speed without wasting time or risking spoilers.” The system creates text of “brief, easy-to-digest summaries” of full seasons of TV shows, single episodes or specific segments of episodes “down to the exact minute of where you are watching,” the company said.
At launch, Prime Video viewers can use X-Ray Recaps for all Amazon MGM Studios original series including “The Boys” (pictured above), “Upload,” “Daisy Jones & the Six,” “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” and “The Wheel of Time.” X-Ray Recaps, currently in beta, is available now to users of Amazon’s Fire TV connected devices in the U.

Supernatural has a reputation for many things. It is known for its creepy premise, brotherly bonds, homoerotic themes, and more. However, the thing that has managed to get the most amount of attention is its duration. The series ran for 15 seasons for just as many years, starting its journey in September 2005 and ending in November 2020.

With this, many cannot help but wonder how the series was able to stay on for so long, especially considering its network was the CW, which was known for canceling shows as quickly as it released them. During an interview, creator Eric Kripke revealed the exact reason why this was the case, and the answer is quite interesting.

What lies ahead for our favorite Dceu characters? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
In 2024, DC Studios‘ significant shift got real. The Dceu, that massive world of superheroes we’ve known for years, took a turn as James Gunn and Peter Safran kicked off a new vision that promised something different, something ambitious. The path they’ve mapped out? A lineup of movies and TV shows. And it all starts with Superman in 2025.
Superman (2025) – A New Man of Steel
Forget another origin story. Gunn’s Superman, originally titled Superman: Legacy, took a bold route, diving right into the Man of Steel’s life as an established hero on Earth. Releasing July 11, 2025, this Superman, played by David Corenswet, is already a reporter at the Daily Planet, already knows Lois Lane (played by The Marvelous Mrs.
Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan), and yes, he’s already aware he’s an alien with powers that are pretty much unmatched.

Supernatural may have ruled screens with angels, demons, and endless Winchester drama, but not everyone was buying into its universe. And, as Eric Kripke himself admits, there was a reason why some fans dropped off along the way. His biggest oversight? Giving away too much.

Instead of letting viewers sink into the mystery, Supernatural kept filling in blanks that didn’t really need answers, leading die-hard fans to wonder: had the series lost its edge? For a show about the unknown, it’s ironic that giving away the secrets became its Achilles’ heel, fueling debate to this day.

Jensen Ackles is a fan-favorite actor in Hollywood with some critically acclaimed projects under his belt, and he very nearly starred in some other big projects.
The 46-year-old is best known for his portrayal of Dean Winchester on Supernatural, a hit series that kept him on TV screens for 15 years. Fans will also recognize him as Soldier Boy from The Boys and Russell Shaw on Tracker.
While he’s played some very recognizable roles, like any other actor, there are also parts that Jensen‘s auditioned for but didn’t land.
Over the years, he’s revealed three iconic roles that he was in the running to land. That includes the revelation that he was the second choice to play one of the most iconic superheroes of all time.
The actor also addressed rumors that he was in the running to play a beloved character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Jensen Ackles is best known for playing Dean Winchester on the iconic television series called Supernatural. During his time on the set of the Primetime Emmy Award-nominated show, Ackles developed a deep bond with his co-stars, especially Jared Padalecki, who played Sam Winchester, the former’s on-screen brother.

Considering that the show lasted for 15 incredible seasons, the actors and their co-stars probably shared a lot of time together on set, possibly even more than they did with their actual families. There are several stories about Padalecki and Ackles pranking everybody on set, but it turns out the younger Winchester brother always tried to take his practical jokes up a notch.

When Karen Fukuhara's character is first introduced in the Prime Video superhero satire "The Boys," she's not even given a name. She's just "The Girl" -- a mute Japanese woman with some seriously strong superpowers. She's a silent assassin, capable of taking incredible levels of damage and healing from them, plus she has superhuman strength and short bursts of super speed, making her extremely formidable.
It's only as the series progresses that we learn her name is Kimiko, and she starts communicating with Frenchie (Tomer Capone) via the sign language she created with her late brother. For most of the series, however, we don't know why Kimiko can't speak. Is it the result of some physical ailment or accident, or is it something psychological? Though we eventually learn the tragic reason behind Kimiko's silence toward the end of "The Boys" season 4, it turns out that Fukuhara was thinking ahead...

Prime Video today released the official trailer and key art for The Sticky, a fast-paced, dark comedy series from Blumhouse Television, inspired by a real-life heist that made global headlines in 2012, which saw more than $18 million worth of maple syrup stolen from Quebec’s national reserves.
From showrunners Brian Donovan and Ed Herro, The Sticky combines moments of culture-clash hilarity, edge-of-the-seat excitement, and heartbreaking drama. All six episodes premiere on Good December 6 exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories around the world.
The Sticky follows Ruth Landry (three-time Emmy Award winner Margo Martindale), a tough, middle-aged maple syrup farmer who turns to crime when the bureaucratic authorities threaten to take away everything she loves.
She teams up with the hot-tempered Bostonian mobster (Chris Diamantopoulos) and a mild-mannered French-Canadian security guard (Guillaume Cyr) to carry out a multi-million-dollar heist on Quebec’s maple syrup surplus.

When it comes to Halloween, nobody does it quite like Dracula, Frankenstein, or the Wolf Man.
Sure, we’ve got modern monsters and endless reboots, but if you’re asking me, the Og Universal Monsters are still the ultimate icons of Halloween horror.
And I mean the real classics — Bela Lugosi’s hypnotic Dracula, Boris Karloff’s unforgettable Frankenstein, and Lon Chaney Jr.’s tortured Wolf Man.

These films didn’t just scare; they enchanted.
There’s a reason I’ll take Lugosi’s rich accent over any sleek modern vampire — it’s the way he commanded a scene, using just his voice and presence to send chills down your spine.
And when it comes to the Wolf Man, there’s a tragedy in Lon Chaney Jr.’s performance that still makes you feel for the man behind the beast, even as he transforms into a snarling,...

Star Trek: Lower Decks is ending and with it the run of Jack Quaid with the franchise. Few people in the industry today is as on the rise as Quaid, having just wrapped up with Star Trek: Lower Decks and starring in The Boys on Amazon. His star is shining bright and during his turn on Lower Decks, he became arguably the biggest name of any of the modern shows.
Now, with Lower Decks over and Quaid's future with the franchise uncertain, it stands to reason that the next logical move would or should be getting Quaid under contract. Not for another season of Lower Decks, but for a new, live-action show.
He's one of the few names from the animated side of the franchise who has enough drawing power to bring people over for a new series on his involvement alone. It's a no-brainer, especially when you remember that Tawny Newsome,...

The show may be called "The Boys," but it proves time and time again that girls do get it done. Eric Kripke's superhero satire, adapted from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's even more controversial comic series, has a feminist bent and a recurring theme of its female characters asserting agency. Starlight/Annie January (Erin Moriarty) is the greatest example, with her literally becoming a progressive icon and thoughtful leader in-universe.
As part of the series' critique of corporate America, though, it does not celebrate rainbow capitalism (i.e. putting individuals from marginalized groups at the top of institutions doing the marginalizing). Girlboss characters are never celebrated on "The Boys," from soulless exec Madelyn Stillwell (Elisabeth Shue), to serpentine politician Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit), to Ashley Barrett (Colby Minifie) — a PR flack in way over her head as Homelander's (Antony Starr) lackey.
Minifie's performance as Ashley is especially impressive,...

Sister Sage (Susan Heyward) is the most compelling new supe in "The Boys" season 4. Unlike Stillwell and Stormfront before her, she's the first woman on the show to successfully form a respectful alliance with Homelander — and by "successfully," we just mean she managed to survive the whole season around Homelander without getting lasered to death. That's pretty impressive; sure, Firecracker (Valorie Curry) has also tried her best to do the same in the fourth season's final episodes, but somehow we don't think it's gonna go as well for her.
What makes Sage's survival of Homelander more impressive is how much she hid from him throughout the season; she knew A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) was the mole in the Seven instantly, but she never snitches him out. Her explanation in the finale is that she saw A-Train as controlled opposition; he was leaking info to the Boys, sure, but all that...
