Abby catches her boyfriend with another woman and decides to escape her NYC life, and meet up with her best friend Penny in Thailand. Upon arrival she befriends fellow backpackers Ben and Jewel who take her under their wing.

Abby struggles to connect with Penny via email and just when all seems to finally get back on track - the unthinkable happens.

Ben shows Abby evidence that Penny is in fact trying to "teach her a lesson" and neither Penny nor Abby are in any danger what-so-ever.

The Clown gives Abby and her new friends instructions. Ben convinces them to play along.

Abby, Ben, and Jewel move to a new island as per their instructions. While awaiting their next message, Ben receives bad news from home and begins to fall apart.

Tensions are high as Abby, Ben, and Jewel are sent a hike through the jungle. When it becomes clear the clown is having fun at their expense, Abby finally gets angry, but realizes she still has no choice but to play along.

Abby, Ben, and Jewel wake up after being drugged and are given a new set of instructions. Abby has finally had enough.

Things get tragically worse when Abby, Ben, and Jewel find a fellow backpacker dead in a motel bathroom. Things get suddenly very real, very fast.

Abby, Ben, and Jewel fight their way through the full moon party to make it back to their beach bungalow safely. The next day they receive a new video, while Ben decides to keep a dark secret from the group.

Abby, Ben, and Jewel grab a fellow backpacker Dale, and follow instructions to a private beach. A decision that does not come without repercussions.

Abby decides to put aside her own personal safety and save her friends.
