Aired weekly through much of 1988, this was the 26th of Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK)'s Big River Drama ("Taiga Dorama") series. Its average rating of 39.2% has remained the second highest among all Big River Dramas since the first of this long-running series premiered in 1963.
