The Netflix's movie recipe is always the same :
- big name actors
- whatever story
- weak director
- watch once and forget
- good action
- flat jokes
- cheap FX
- good Sunday afternoon movie.

Have you ever seen any Kevin Hart movie? If yes, you'll know this one. It's just Kevin Hart being Kevin Hart. It's a decently fun action comedy. It's a perfect light watch and you'll barely remember it by next week.

I was reading through a few reviews that marked this movie as terrible.
What are they expecting from a movie like this? Shakespeare? This is action comedy! And what does it not provide for you in that genre. Kevin Hart is being just like Kevin Hart. That's what people want when they select a show like this. Woody Harrelson did an excellent job of his standardized villain persona.
All movies are not on the same level, but for the level this one is on, I think they did a good job. Even "actors" have to make money.

Like in Zombieland.
I really enjoyed this one.
Good popcorn fun.
Kevin was annoying at times but thats on the 'Kevin Hart vehicle' bit, so you just have to ignore it.
But, definitely worth a watch better than most out right now.
Seems the older actio/comedy films are starting to get back to basics.

It's honestly a really enjoyable film, I say it every time i review a Netflix film but people just hate on them for no reason. People have a serious vendetta against Netflix films and it shows.
With this film you get what it says on the tin 'action comedy'. There's plenty of action so they can't complain about that. It's also funny so they can't complain about that. So what's the problem? Yes the CGI at times was a little poor but that doesn't lower the enjoyment of the film.
Woody was in his element with that role, it was perfect for him. Kevin hart doing what he does best with making you laugh. It's a really enjoyable film. People just expect every film nowadays to be a bit budget marvel movie and when they don't get that they're disappointed, it's sad.

Sometimes these switch role movies work out great, with a good script writer and chemistry between leads. This flick however, there is absolutely ZERO chemistry between them, the characters arent even the tiniest bit likeable and the story drags on and is boring despite lots of (forced) action. Actually the characters not are only not likeable, Hart is extremely annoying to the point you wish to stop watching the movie. Not to mention the guy plays EXACTLY the same role he always plays (which sometimes does work) to varying degrees of stupid1ty. Here it is dialed up to 10 and his behaviour comes of so obnoxiously dumb it is too unrealistic even for a comedy film.
Just in general a dull, unfunny film with obnoxious characters and a plot that drags on rather than takes you on a fun, entertaining adventure.
PASS.

Kevin Hart can be hit and miss at the best of times but The Man From Toronto is a real letdown. It isn't funny at all and barely raises a chuckle. Harrelson & Hart have no chemistry and Harrelson is just playing the role exactly the way Jason Statham would have (Statham was originally cast) and not bringing anything to the part.
The biggest problem however is a strange one. For a rumoured 75 million budget, this contains some of the worst CGI i've seen in years. From ridiculous fake looking explosions (and there are many) to the weirdest looking grass on record, The Man From Toronto should be a candidate for worst effects. It's becoming a bit of a pattern for Netflix original movies to have very shoddy effects.

Pretty much Ride Along with an assassin instead of a cop. It's predictable, pretty forced, but enjoyable if you like Kevin Hart. Woody's role was originally Jason Stathum's and you can tell. Overall, not bad for a Netflix film, but nothing special.
Was Kevin Hart ever funny? Because I can't remember a single moment when he was. And now he has created this "actor" persona which does the same thing in every movie: talking non stop in a whiny voice and pointing the obvious like it would be amusing. But it's just not.
So in this clone of clones assassin buddy comedy film, Kevin Hart is an annoying idiot and Harrelson is a top notch assassin. And that could have been somewhat interesting, or captivating, or funny, but it just wasn't. The movie was simply awkward, a stain on Woody's career and, worst of all, plain boring.
Avoid this like the plague.

It's what I expected, and it's exactly what I got. This was a well written, directed and perfectly performed film. The chemistry between Hart and Harrelson was spot-on and hilarious. Not sure what everyone was expecting, but we all enjoyed it and laughed hard. A recommend for sure if you're a fan of either, especially both stars. A well deserved 8/10 from me.

This was a really enjoyable action flick. I felt that hart and harrelson worked well together and the mix between action and comedy worked well. Some good action scenes that seemed to be the same stunt coordinator as kingsman. The plot was pretty good and flowed well. With some unexpected moments. Altogether an enjoyable action flick. And if you like either kevin hart or woody harrelson, you'll enjoy this movie.

It wasen't the best I have seen BUT it was definitely not bad. The movie was okay and I watched from start to finish without any problems. Kevin was funny as usual and I thought it worked well between Kevin and Woody. Good acting and the movie was okay :)

Not a bad movie, it kept me on the edge of my seat and there were some funny moments. I wouldn't watch this again but I'm glad I did watch it one time. It was a decent movie if you want to watch something different. If you don't like Kevin Hart, then this movie isn't for you. If you want to watch something mindless and fun, then go for it.

The movie is good, entertaining, and fun. The fight scene at the end is horrible and VERY difficult to follow due to the rediculous recording method. The end is a little drawn out and could be shortened a bit without missing anything.
Dont waste your time. Netflix flops again with zero charisma actors. Nothing funny or entertaining about this junk. Save your time and pick something else.

Actually more like a 7.25
When I first saw the ad for this I thought "meh this will be something to watch while I eat dinner" but it was waaaaay better than I thought. Really good camera Angles in some fight scenes and really good comedic editing. Hart is really funny. I actually laughed out loud a LOT and had to rewind scenes which isn't something I find I do with most comedies lately. Definitely worth a watch.

This had potential and was kind of funny. It could've pushed the envelope if it was rated-r though. It was missing everything you would expect this movie have. Honestly, I see why Jason Statham left over creative differences (not being rated-r). Sunday night watch, don't waste your weekend watching this. Side note, being a very lucrative comedian, why not pass PG-13?

Not sure the low score. The movie was funny and kept me engaged. Like if you don't like Kevin Hart you won't like movie. And yes he plays the same character in every movie but who are you? Roger Ebert? Loved Woody Harrelson in the movie. People need to learn to turn off their brains and enjoy movies. If you're bored and need a good movie, this is it. If you're an person complains about CGI this isn't for you.
Just the usual Kevin Hart blabbering away non stop. I cant imagine how this could be considered funny. Just boring & repetitive. Dont bother, your ears will get tired of listening to him.
Excellent cast for an absurd plot.
I'm starting to like Kevin Hart's films. He handles his parts well, and is maturing nicely into films.
This is just a fun comedy involving mistaken identity.

This movie gives partly what u kinda expect from Hart and Harrelson,
at same time its problem these are not stand out characters .
Hart is likable , but as often in the movies he is in , the script , the actual comedic content could be better .
Harrelson is not bad , but seems in a way clichee and comparible with roles he has done before .
As to create more content for its service , this netflix movie has been made , it does feel like that to me .
There is need for content and not much time to perfect the script or work on other aspects of the movie .
Lets do a movie with Hart and Harrelson , it will generate some views on their names alone .
Even though the movie has its moments , and sort of delivers what u can expect from it , it really left me with empty feelng when finished.

It tries very hard to be funny but fails miserably. Lots of cringe moments and pathetic jokes which were unfunny and overdone. Kevin Hart pretty much plays himself in every movie. Makes me cringe. Some over the top action and horrible acting overall. Woody Harrelson's character could have been much better. Poor direction and as a man from Toronto, I didn't enjoy this movie at all. I'm glad Jason Statham walked out. This movie would have been a massive waste of his talent.

Randy, AKA 'The Man from Toronto', is an expert at getting information from people who don't want to talk; his next job entails going to a house in rural Virginia to question a man. Teddy Jackson is a man with many ideas, most of them poor, one weekend he takes his wife to rural Virginia. Thanks to an unreadable printout he goes to the wrong address and is mistaken for Randy. Somehow he survives but when the house is raided by the FBI he is told that he will have to continue pretending to be Randy to help uncover a plot. This will see him forming an unlikely partnership with the real Man from Toronto.
I thought this film was okay; it provided a decent number of laughs and some reasonably exciting moments... unfortunately it lacked any genuinely hilarious moments and lacked a sense of danger. The special effects are also somewhat weak. The story was solid enough; it is just a pity it wasn't grittier; I wasn't surprised to learn Jason Statham had pulled out of the role of Randy due to disagreements about the tone and rating of the film... he would have been great in this if the film had been a 'UK15' rating. As it was Woody Harrelson was good in the role but lacked the menace the higher rating would allow. Kevin Hart is okay as Teddy; at times amusing but occasionally a little irritating. Overall I thought it passed to time well enough; hardly a must see but I'd recommend it to anybody wanting action that is suitable for younger viewers or the easily offended.
