I am very surprised by the low rating. If I have to guess the reason, it is probably the fact that the occurrences in the series cannot happen in real life. The plot involves time travelling, but not as in sci-fi movie, but in a poetic way, not trying to explain it somehow, because it does not matter.
If this kind of thing doesn't bother you, you should definitely try this series, as well as the excellent Israeli film Jellyfish, which was also created by Etgar Keret and Shira Geffen.

As the other review on this movie says, I'm very surprised by the low rating this mini series was given. The performance of Mathieu Amalric really is able convey the story in a relatable way. His performance was a true treat to watch, his arc is very well written. Don't want to say much more, i always say it's best to go in blind to films for true immersion. To round it all off i would say watch the series and don't let the sub par rating turn you down.

The first impression was of weirdness, slightly off-putting. The many twists in the plot are incredible and at the same time amusing and thought-provoking. A bold screenplay, a tight production, great artistry throughout. The troubled, helpless and hopeless main character hardly could find anyone better than Amalric to play it.
I liked the time travel especially, so well imagined and so revealing on some of the characters' backgrounds, on the (sad) destiny of the building, and on life in the longer run.
And, of all people, the main character goes off his way to save a goldfish. This will have paramount consequences. Remember: you'll never know when and how life challenges you.
