Noted American actor Richard Dreyfuss has been on the receiving end of stark criticism after his appearance at a special screening event of Jaws at The Cabot theater in Beverly, Massachusetts. The 76-year-old was the special guest at an “An Evening With Richard Dreyfuss + Jaws Screening” which was held over Memorial Day.

However, hundreds of attendees allegedly walked out of the Q&a session following multiple homophobic, transphobic, and racist comments allegedly made at the event by Dreyfuss. According to social media responses, Dreyfuss allegedly spoke offensively about Barbara Streisand, and criticized the Academy’s rules on inclusivity, before going on a rant against transphobic people ‘affirming their gender.’

Things are looking even grimmer for Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the armorer on troubled western Rust. As determined by a judge just one week out from her trial, Gutierrez-Reed will indeed stand before the court despite trying to get her involuntary manslaughter case – stemming from the tragic 2021 death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins – dismissed.

The judge (as per Deadline), stated, “I find that the communications are not materially prejudicial to the defendant…I’m denying the motion.” This will find Hannah Gutierrez-Reed standing trial beginning February 21st, with it expected to last until early the next month. Gutierrez-Reed is also facing charges of tampering with evidence. The armorer has a lot working against her at this point, no less that she reportedly showed up to work hung over, leading to negligence that prosecutors say had a direct part in the death of Hutchins. Pierce Brosnan, Samuel L. Jackson, and Brandon Lessard (Murder at Yellowstone City) are saddling up for Richard Gray’s Unholy Trinity, an upcoming Western revenge feature currently filming in Montana under a SAG-AFTRA Interim Agreement.

According to Deadline‘s exclusive report, Unholy Trinity delves into dark secrets, buried treasure, and bloody murder. Deadline says, “the film is set against the turbulent backdrop of 1870s Montana. It picks up in the moments before the execution of Isaac Broadway, as he gives his estranged son, Henry (Lessard), an impossible task: murder the man who framed him for a crime he didn’t commit. Intent on fulfilling his promise, Henry travels to the remote town of Trinity, where an unexpected turn of events traps him in town and leaves him caught between Gabriel Dove (Brosnan), the town’s upstanding new sheriff, and a mysterious figure named St. Christopher (Jackson).”

Exclusive: Rlje Films and Shudder have picked up worldwide rights to the erotic horror thriller Suitable Flesh, starring Heather Graham (Boogie Nights), ahead of the film’s world premiere at the Tribeca Festival. Pic will hit theaters, VOD and digital later this year, with its streaming debut on Shudder to follow.

Based on the short story “The Thing on the Doorstep” by H.P. Lovecraft, Suitable Flesh follows psychiatrist Elizabeth Derby (Graham), who becomes obsessed with helping a young patient suffering extreme personality disorder. But her desire to help leads her into dark occult danger as she tries to escape a horrific fate.

Beginning on June 14, the new series continuation of the beloved film “The Full Monty” arrives on Hulu. It’s 25 years later and the men and women of Sheffield, England, are in reboot mode, navigating life and family. The original 1997 movie focused on a group of down-on-their-luck, blue-collar men who put on a strip show to make ends meet.

Anna Camp spent the last few years doing something sort of crazy for an actress who loves to work: saying no.

When “Pitch Perfect 3” hit theaters in December 2017, it marked the (maybe) end of the franchise with which Camp is still most closely associated. After announcing it would resume filming following the formal charges filed against star Alec Baldwin and weapons supervisor Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the production has settled on Yellowstone Film Ranch in Montana for filming.

The famous set is where “Murder at Yellowstone City” and “The Old Way” were filmed.

“Rust” is finally set to resume filming, with producers announcing Wednesday that production would pick up on the Alec Baldwin movie later this spring in Montana on the Yellowstone Film Ranch.

Though Taylor Sheridan’s “Yellowstone” also films (elsewhere) in Montana, Yellowstone Film Ranch is home to Western films like Nicolas Cage’s “The Old Way” and “Murder at Yellowstone City,” and not the smash-hit Paramount Network series.

Producers have been talking for months about plans to finally finish filming on “Rust,” which was halted in the wake of the fatal October 2021 accident involving cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. But it remained a question where and when producers could pick work back up — and who would return.

The producers of “Rust” announced Wednesday that they will complete the film at the Yellowstone Film Ranch in Montana, with production set to begin this spring.

Alec Baldwin is still on board in the lead role, despite facing a charge of involuntary manslaughter in New Mexico for the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

The filmmakers announced in October that they would finish the film, which has been on hold since Hutchins was shot and killed in October 2021. The announcement was made as the production settled a civil suit with Hutchins’ widower, Matthew, who will become an executive producer.

They had previously said they would not return to New Mexico, but had not said where the production would resume. Production was about halfway completed when Hutchins was killed.

Like New Mexico, Montana offers a tax incentive for film production, which ranges from 20% to 35% of production costs. The hit TV show “Yellowstone” also films in Montana.

Gabriel Byrne has joined Lionsgate’s Ballerina, a spinoff movie set in the John Wick universe starring Keanu Reeves as the title character.

“For decades, Gabriel’s mysterious and enigmatic presence has enriched dozens of films. You can never quite be sure what he’s thinking, and that’s perfect for this world,” producer Brady Iwanyk said in a statement.

Byrne will next be seen as legendary writer Samuel Beckett in the biopic Dance First for director James Marsh. He also stars as Enzo Ferrari in Grindstone’s Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend, and appeared in Epix’s series War of the Worlds and the feature Murder at Yellowstone City.

Byrne’s other credits include Hereditary, directed by Ari Aster, and the limited series ZeroZeroZero, directed by Janus Metz, Stefano Sollima and Pablo Trapero for Amazon Studios.

Ryan Eggold and Isaiah Mustafa have been cast in Amazon’s upcoming series based on James Patterson’s Alex Cross novels.

The pair join previously announced series lead Aldis Hodge in the series, which is titled “Cross.” Amazon ordered the show to series in October.

“Cross” is described as thriller mystery series. Per the official logline, “Alex Cross is a detective and forensic psychologist, uniquely capable of digging into the psyches of killers and their victims, in order to identify—and ultimately capture—the murderers.”

Eggold will play Ed Ramsey. The character is said to have “humble Midwest roots that are the core of his irresistible charm, but he’s got elbows sharp enough to carve out space in the elite social and political circles of DC and New York. Smooth, well connected, and devious, Ramsey can also be physically imposing when he needs to be – and he has some very dark secrets.

Exclusive: Cast is rounding out on Boy Kills World, with Isaiah Mustafa (It: Chapter Two) joining the action pic set in a dystopian fever dream reality that is gearing up to shoot in South Africa.

As Deadline previously revealed, Bill Skarsgard (who starred with Mustafa in It: Chapter Two), Samara Weaving and martial arts expert Yayan Ruhian are leading the movie, which follows Boy (Skarsgard), a deaf mute with a vibrant imagination. When his family is murdered, he escapes to the jungle and is trained by a mysterious shaman to repress his childish imagination and become an instrument of death.

German filmmaker Moritz Mohr is set to make his feature directing debut on the project. Producers are Sam Raimi through Raimi Productions and Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment, with Zainab Azizi of Raimi Productions, Stuart Manashil of Novo, Dan Kagan and Andrew Childs of Vertigo Entertainment, and Reza Brojerdi of Ventaro Film.

Exclusive: Aimee Garcia has joined the cast of Woke.

The Hulu series, co-created by Keith Knight and Marshall Todd, centers on Keef Knight (Lamorne Morris), an African-American cartoonist who finds himself on the verge of mainstream success when an unexpected incident changes his life. With a newfound consciousness, Keef must navigate the new voices and ideas challenging him, all without setting fire to everything he’s already built.

In the comedy’s second season, Garcia will play Laura Salgado, a likable but formidable self-made Silicon Valley venture capitalist who is interested in working with Knight.

Knight and Todd exec produce Woke, alongside Maurice “Mo” Marable, Richie Schwartz, John Will, Will Gluck and Eric Christian Olsen. Anthony King is also on board as an exec producer for Season 2.

Exclusive: Renegade Entertainment, the production company co-founded by Courtney Lauren Penn and Thomas Jane, has optioned Chuck Hustmyre’s feature screenplay Relentless and will develop and produce the project as a starring vehicle for Jane.

Pic is an action thriller following a former U.S. Army Green Beret (Jane) who, after smugglers steal his boat and leave him for dead, gets caught between warring crime gangs as he fights to save the life of a young girl.

Hustmyre spent 22 years in law enforcement and retired as a special agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (Atf). During his career he specialized in violent crime, narcotics, and fugitive investigations. He previously wrote the Momentum Pictures action film Disturbing the Peace, starring Guy Pearce, and the Lionsgate films House of the Rising Sun starring Dave Bautista and End of a Gun starring Steven Seagal.
