in what parallel universe...

... can you use the 10th episode of a new series to change the plot arc, tone, and ambiance of a show while at the same time deep-sixing the star (Swinton) that was the glue, the main draw ....? Answer: Not this one. At this time this review was tendered, the network had not decided to renew? After seeing this episode, this reviewer had not decided the series was even worth renewing.
