This is Traveller's Tales' first Lego game to have storylines that are not directly adapted from any specific stories from the franchise its based on, Instead the stories in this game are almost entirely original.
One of the characters you can unlock is "vacation" Joker, who bears a striking resemblance to his appearance in the killing joke.
