Save actors for horror movies. Using them for true account retellings waters down the story for me. I'm not sure I've even finished an entire episode yet. As much as I enjoy the content, the way it's presented almost feels like an insult to the viewers intelligence.
Once you realize that those being interviewed are ALSO actors, all authenticity goes right out the window. And, can we say "over-acting!"? Sure, they show archival photos and videos but the rest just feels really inauthentic.
The show has good intentions. It's based on true ghost stories and if you are familiar with famous paranormal stories you may recognize some of them. It's definitely not on par of a better series such as "Paranormal Witness" The acting has a lot to be desired as the stories are acted out and contains with some actual footage. I like concept I just wish the overall quality was better. If it comes back perhaps they can tweak it.

A totally unoriginal show that is plagiarizing Stories and using phony archival footage. Tonight's show July 25th was a rip-off of Bobby Mackeys haunted bar story. Opening night had 2 stories ripped off from Paranormal witness

If you guys sense that some stories are the same ones from "Paranormal Witness", its because its from the same producers.
and yes, this show uses actors to portray the actual witnesses, ...im guessing the actual witnesses does not to do the whole shebang all over again.

The old guy who is supposed to be the actual "eyewitness" on tonight's episode is literally the worst actor I have ever seen. I wouldn't cast him in a community theater production as a tree.

Fact is we are living in a society where people are taking videos and pictures of EVERYTHING, what they eat, how they dress, places they go...YET a person claiming a haunted home or "Ghost attack" does not film it. Archival footage is a joke = Grainy videos and photoshopped pictures. Yea and I'm guessing the REAL VICTIMS..."I'm frightened Aunt Em", are so frightened they have to use F rated actors/actresses to tell their story. There are ghosts in this world, good and bad. This show has captured neither!

I very much enjoy the actual footage and recordings, if they're real, but the credibility is ruined using actors. You can protect identity by shadowing people and changing voices. Actors ruin the show!

It cheapens the whole show. You're presenting overly scripted actors as real witnesses. It's a really bad idea and it's not working. Please stop.

I actually believe in ghosts. I have seen a ghost. these shows are just getting more and more ridiculous and insulting to those people who actually do believe in the paranormal and have experienced it. The premise of the show is that there is actual proof and footage to turn the viewer also into a believer. However actors are portraying these supposedly real people who are then played by actors in the reenactments with archival footage that is additionally fake. basically this is just all fiction and being made up by some writers somewhere who think these stories will somehow be convincing to the general public. Don't bother. At the beginning of the show it says that the real people were so terrified that their identities were changed and so were the locations. Travel Channel needs to cancel this show and stop trying to make money exploiting those people who have had real ghost experiences.
For those who love Paranormal Witness, My Haunted House, and A Haunting - this show will not be a disappointment.
This has the same ominous and intriguing feeling that those have.
People are giving this terrible reviews without a solid reason, but watch it for yourself. It's a great show for lovers of the paranormal.

I enjoy watching these, but, i understand the person telling the story are intact actors (not a fan, would rather the real person involved to tell the story) but the archival footage sometimes looks really fake, so if that is also infact not genuine I must stop watching it, I only have time for real footage.
Usually love paranormal shows but as the other reviewer said, the pathetic actors telling the stories absolutely ruin it as well as changing the locations of the incidents. First time I watched incident supposedly took place in Clifton, TN. where I live but the original footage aired was of Bobby Mackey's in Wilder, KY. I haven't been able to make it through a whole program, it is absolutely a stupid show. You want us to believe a program is presenting real occurrences, yet you fake the locations and hire fifth rate fake actors to present it. The worst paranormal show on tv!

I just keep hoping that a good show wasn't canceled for this one. The only way this abomination is acceptable is when all new series have run out and their is not a single thing left to watch. I am not a believer in this show. If any truth existed to these stories they were lost in translation by the horrible acting by both the Actors portrayed in the dramatization and the "actual" person portrayed.

The subjects of the stories are very interesting, ( I've seen the first three episodes ) but the bogus way the storytellers are telling them, well, they are ruining my enjoyment of watching the program. Who told them or let them act this way? Too dramatic, too stiff, very overdone, just so bad that it ruins the whole story. Most programs of this nature I don't mind watching more than once. Not so for this show. I don't think this show will be around too long.

Wow... this show is awful with all the bad acting. Paranormal Witness was the best show that felt real and used the real people in the stories!! No bad acting!!! So sad this show ended a few years ago but they should bring it back!!! Believers is just absolute garbage!

"True archival footage" - the actors on tonight's episode sucked - the "actual witness" wouldn't hold up in kangaroo court.
Bring more HOTEL PARANORMAL - less of this thrown together garbage. Also. The "re creation actor" of the first story is so well known - and then the "real witness" of the second story - VERY familiar with both of those faces from these shows.
Hang those two up

This show is so fake. I won't watch anymore. The archival footage is clearly made up using actors.
This show was amazing. The actual footage is pretty good, my other half and I have seen it on many of the other ghost type of shows we have seen. At the start of the show they even put a line that says "These events are so terrifying that the identities and locations of the believers have been changed to protect their anonymity." Overall I give it 9 out of 10. Really hope it gets another season that is longer.

As much as I liked A Haunting, Paranormal Witness, Monsters and Mysteries in America, These Woods are Hanted, I hate this series.
This series, like My Haunted House, is over-acted trash. The entire fun of seeing the eye-witnesses tell their stories is eliminated and the show is nothing more than an unbelievable, unexciting and just plain bad, boring bunch of trash.
Bring back the actual people or at the very least, have a narrator tell the story!
Absolutely rubbish, meant to show archive footage of paranormal incidents, but so obvious that even the so called archive footage is fake! I can accept a measure of dramatisation but this this is taking the biscuit! Most of the stories are just rehashing old subjects.

The first episode was ok, as I had seen that story before. However, as I watched episode two, I realized that the actors all told their story in exactly the same tone. Once I saw the rip off of Bobby Mackey's..that was it for me.
In the last episode, there was a list claiming certain mistreatment of patients in an asylum/hospital in 1919, including lobotomies and electro shock therapy, neither of which were performed for the first time in USA until the 1930's. Faking facts such as these misleads the viewer and clearly demonstrates the stupidity and incompetence of the company producing this show... don't watch!
