Scream 7 has added Isabel May, best known for her appearances in 1883 and 1923, to its cast in the key role of Sidney Prescott's (Neve Campbell) daughter.
A recent rumor claimed that McKenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire) was up for the role of Sidney's eldest daughter, Tatum, which we assume is the same character.
In addition to the Yellowstone prequel shows, May has appeared in Young Sheldon, I Want You Back, and Run Hide Fight.
We recently got confirmation that Courteney Cox will reprise her role as Gale Weathers. The Friends alum had previously stated that she hadn't officially signed on, but revealed to US Magazine that Gale will be back after coming very close to death (every one of those 356 knife wounds clearly missed her vital organs) in the previous movie.
"I’m the longest running Scream queen, so I guess I can’t stop now,” said the actress.

1883 actress Isabel May will play the daughter of Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott in Spyglass Media Group’s upcoming Scream 7. The deal is finalized.
The American actress is best known for starring as Katie Cooper on the Netflix series Alexa & Katie and had a recurring role as Veronica Duncan on the CBS series Young Sheldon. She held the lead role of Zoe Hull in the film Run Hide Fight. She is the narrator and leading protagonist of the Paramount+ series 1883.
The new Scream movie will include original cast members like Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers. However, Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera, who starred in the previous two films, won’t be in this one.
Ortega dropped out due to her busy schedule, including work on Wednesday and other projects. Barrera was let go last year following controversy over her social media posts about the Israel-Hamas conflict.

Exclusive: Armie Hammer, who hasn’t acted in more than three years following 2021 sexual assault allegations, is set to return to a film set with western Frontier Crucible.
This is the project we revealed yesterday, starring Thomas Jane (The Predator) and produced by Bone Tomahawk and Dragged Across Concrete producer Dallas Sonnier. Filming is due to get underway on the independently-financed film next month in Monument Valley and Prescott, Arizona.
Hammer’s A-list Hollywood career was derailed back in 2021 when multiple women came forward with claims of abuse against him. Hammer denied the allegations but had to abandon several projects and was dropped by his talent agency and publicist. After an investigation into Hammer by the LA County District Attorney and LAPD, they declined to pursue criminal charges against him, citing insufficient evidence. He remains without representation other than his lawyer.

Closing out the first night of this year’s Saskatoon Fantastic Film Festival, The Puppetman tossed me a nugget of nostalgia early in the film when the leads make a booze run and I recognized the upside-down sign of Buffalo’s On the Rox Liquors, where many an eventful weekend of my own started.
But that doesn’t come until after we see a man brutally murder his wife while his young daughter cowers, caged in a dark closet. He seems to be struggling with himself as he beats her with a frying pan and stabs her. And that is his defence in court, it wasn’t him, someone or something else was controlling his body. It doesn’t get him acquitted, but it does get him a nickname,...

Isabel May, whose previous credits include Alexa & Katie, Let’s Scare Julie, Run Hide Fight, I Want You Back, and the Yellowstone prequel series 1883, has signed on to join Jurnee Smollett (Birds of Prey) in the thriller Sunflower, which is set to mark the feature directorial debut of writer Misha Green.

Hey, remember 2020 quarantine? That’s a joke — of course you do. Not only was it the most disruptive worldwide event of the last five years, it has also been exhaustively mined for content. Only three years out, it already feels like all the articles, books, social media posts, paintings, films, and TV shows that could be made about quarantine have already been made. Such is the nature of our rapid-fire online world. If you want to say something about the pandemic lockdown, it’d better be inventive. Like, a-Zoom-seance-killed-all-my-friends inventive.
Unfortunately, “Life Upside Down” makes no such contributions. This second feature from the writer-director Cecilia Miniucchi (“Expired”) uses the expected pandemic filmmaking gimmicks — actors filmed their scenes on phones and computers as Miniucchi directed them remotely — to produce a cringe-inducing melodrama. In this undercooked tale of middle-aged romance, there is nobody to root for and nothing of interest. All there...

Superhost is the third film by writer/director Brandon Christensen (Still/Born) and the first that wasn’t co-written with Colin Minihan. It’s also the first that doesn’t revolve around parenthood. How well has he managed to change things up? And can he bring something new to a pair of well-worn plots, the Airbnb from hell and YouTubers getting more of a story than they bargained for?
Teddy and Claire are co-hosts of the YouTube channel Superhost! as well as being a couple off-screen. He’s even planning to propose to her when they film their next segment.
But all is not well in the world of Airbnb reviews. Their subscriber count has been dropping due to their unsensational content. They rent a remote cabin only to find that the access code has been changed.

Shut In is, as I’m sure you’re aware, the new film from Ben Shapiro and his website The Daily Wire. I was initially impressed by the reviews it was getting. Then I noticed how many of them were from sites that, even if they didn’t call themselves conservative, right wing, or even political, had a very obvious point of view. Comments about “beta males”, Hollywood’s “liberal agenda” and complaints about “woke culture” abounded. So, as with their previous. film, Run Hide Fight, I decided to watch it and see if it was a decent thriller or propaganda.
Jessica is a former meth addict struggling to stay straight and raise her two young children. She also wants to sell the house her grandmother left her, move away and start over.

Exclusive: Conservative media site The Daily Wire has taken the unusual step of launching its first original movie, Shut In, for free on YouTube.
The Black List and BloodList thriller, directed by xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage and Disturbia director D.J. Caruso, will debut on YouTube on the evening of February 10. The stream will only available in the U.S. During the screening, The Daily Wire will also show a first look teaser trailer for its Gina Carano western Terror On The Prairie, and reveal a new movie project it is working on. While ad-supported free movie launches are becoming more popular as the distribution ecosystem evolves, this launch is not ad supported, we are told, but is more of a marketing play. The initial plan was to debut the film for Daily Wire subscribers, but the site’s subs will now get an exclusive window to see the...

While it’s not a sub-genre, there’s been a handful of “active shooter” films made in the post-Columbine era. Some of them, like Gus Van Sant‘s 2003 film “Elephant,” or Brady Corbet‘s “Vox Lux,” from 2018, offer an arthouse take on these incidents. Others, like 2020’s “Run Hide Fight,” adopt a pulpy, more exploitative approach.

Cult and controversial actor-director Vincent Gallo is returning to acting after a near decade-long absence from features.
Quietly, Gallo took on one of the lead roles in D.J. Caruso’s movie thriller Shut In, which is the first original movie from conservative media outlet-turned film producer The Daily Wire, which just revealed the casting.
The project marks Gallo’s first feature acting role since 2013 film The Human Trust. The actor-filmmaker, now 60, is best known for directing controversial indie movie The Brown Bunny (2003) with Chloe Sevigny and Christina Ricci starrer Buffalo 66 (1998). In 2010 he won the best actor prize at the Venice Film Festival for his turn in Jerzy Skolimowski’s well-received movie Essential Killing.
Gallo is also known for making incendiary and provocative comments. His website — described by The Daily Wire as “satirical” — has come under fire for discriminatory passages. As an avowed Trump fan and a political conservative,...

Ahead of FrightFest’s UK premiere of Run Hide Fight at the Glasgow Film Festival, director Kyle Rankin talks about the personal tragedy that inspired the film, the influence of 70s cinema and the huge importance of film festivals.
Run Hide Fight was inspired by a tragic incident in your own past so did that make it a harder script to write?
In 1999, my best friend and fellow filmmaker, Shayne Worcester, was gunned down during a mugging in San Francisco. It came to light years later that the event was a gang initiation — meaning guys who wanted to be part of a gang were tasked with going out and killing a random civilian that night. He was only 29.
I think about him all the time, so I wouldn’t say that writing Run Hide Fight was harder…it was instead maybe cathartic.

"Nothing that happens here matters in the real world." This is not a film we support, especially because the people releasing it are so deranged, but the trailer is out for anyone to watch anyway. Run Hide Fight is a Die Hard-esque film about a school shooting in America. A sore, sad subject to focus on. It premiered at the Venice Film Festival last year, and worst of all, it's being distributed by a hardcore right-wing propaganda organization. It's important to point out this fact - and let you make up your own mind about the film and its content. Run Hide Fight follows a high school sieged by a quartet of live-streaming school shooters when one young girl, 17-year-old Zoe Hull, uses her wits and survival skills to fight back. Starring Thomas Jane, Radha Mitchell, Eli Brown, Olly Sholotan, Treat Williams, Barbara Crampton, and Isabel May as Zoe. This looks like a very unsettling,...

At The Playlist, we’re not ashamed of sharing politically-minded content and offering up our opinions when warranted. Hell, you can look at our Twitter feed to see the political stuff that we share. But what’s happening with The Daily Wire is something totally different, as the conservative news organization has gone above and beyond trying to share its political views (as toxic and ridiculous as they may be) and is now getting involved with movie distribution, as seen in the new trailer for “Run Hide Fight.”

Before its release at last year’s Venice Film Festival, “Run Hide Fight” had already stoked a bit of controversy, thanks to the combination of the producer of the film, Dallas Sonnier (who is no stranger to conservative views and alleged misconduct), and the subject...

From actor Jon Voight to Kirstie Alley, Trump’s celebrity fans have declared war on the left – and there is little sign hostilities will end soon
On 11 November, Midnight Cowboy and Coming Home star Jon Voight posted a video on Twitter. “This is our greatest battle since the civil war,” he said, referring to the election results. “The battle of righteousness versus Satan, yes, Satan. Because these leftists are evil, corrupt and they want to tear down this nation.” Voight’s support of President Trump has been full-throated. His video messages promote conspiracy theories about the election and use violent language. Voight is typical of celebrity Maga: from Kirstie Alley to James Woods, Trump’s Hollywood supporters regularly echo the president’s own unvarnished rhetoric. But now Trump’s term is over, how long can this cultural Infinity War last?

“I didn’t want to make another Elephant or We Need to Talk About Kevin,” says Kyle Rankin about his new movie, Run Hide Fight. “There are enough films that look at school shootings from the perspective of the perpetrators. I wanted to focus on the victims.”
Run, Hide, Fight certainly doesn’t feel like a Gus van Sant or Lynne Ramsay movie. Instead of pondering the unfathomable motives of the killers and the senselessness of school shootings, or —as with Brady Corbet’s Vox Lux, how the sickening repetition of these massacres have traumatized American youth — Kyle Rankin, more ...

Though ongoing border restrictions kept the Venice Film Festival off-limits to most of Hollywood, the Lido wasn’t entirely devoid of Americans. Casts and crews of selected films and other invitees were able to enter Italy in limited numbers, using festival invitation letters to circumvent the country’s ban on non-essential travel. Those who braved the journey got their share of double takes from unsuspecting Europeans in the process.
Nick Shumaker, an agent with UTA, received a letter from the festival inviting him to attend, but had to take nasal swabs both 72 hours before leaving the U.S. and immediately upon arrival in Venice. The State Department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs has given Italy a Level-3 travel advisory, advising Americans to “reconsider travel.”
