According to Deadline, Dillahunt will play a villain, but his character doesn't appear to be anyone we might know from the comics.

Described as a "modern cowboy," William Macon is a "a self-righteous, conspiracy-minded man who masks his ruthless ambition behind a charming and calculated facade."

Dillahunt has a lot of experience playing villains, with appearances in the likes of The Last House on the Left, Looper, and HBO's Deadwood, in which he played two completely different characters (really three if you count his cameo in the movie).

After repeated let-downs at the box office and the disappointment of fans due to the subpar performance of past DC movies, James Gunn took over the helm. The filmmaker’s decision to reboot the entire DC Universe and start with a clean slate has received mixed reactions from fans.

In a recent social media post, the Movie 43 director reminded fans of the anniversary of the debut of three popular DC characters. Gunn’s post included the elusive Wonder Woman, the Green Lantern John Stewart, and The Penguin noticing one common feature between the odd trio. The filmmaker stated that all three characters had debuted on the same day, marking it as their anniversary.

Max released the official trailer for James Gunn‘s Creature Commandos, the first title kicking off the new DC Universe, on Saturday at New York Comic Con.

The seven-episode adult animated series, written and executive produced by Gunn and based on DC characters, tracks a secret team of incarcerated monsters recruited for missions deemed too dangerous for humans. When all else fails… they’re your last, worst option.

Sebastian Stan has to be proud of where he’s come in life, after having to move from a completely different part of the world to the United States for a better life, starting from scratch and reaching Hollywood stardom. Sebastian Stan made his MCU debut in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger for what proved to be a memorable, but relatively minor, role as Bucky Barnes. 

The actor was given far more to do in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Bucky's story continued in Captain America: Civil War before he was put centre stage in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

Despite being part of a story arc that's played out for upwards of a decade, Stan tells Josh Horowitz that he'd have liked to spend more time delving into Bucky's stint as a Hydra assassin. 

"The whole Winter Soldier aspect of that character...I almost wish we'd have explored more of that," the actor explained. "There's that whole situation where he's having memory lapses and some of his old memories are coming back and he's short-circuiting. He wasn't as brainwashed to a machine if you look in the comic books.

During last night's episode of The Penguin, titled "Cent'Anni," a flashback revealed the truth behind The Hangman and Carmine Falcone's role in his daughter, Sofia, being locked up in Arkham. 

As you'll likely recall, Carmine was shot and killed by The Riddler in The Batman. In that movie, he was played by Transformers star John Turturro. However, in The Penguin, Shazam! and Green Lantern star Mark Strong takes over the role, adding yet another DC character to his résumé.

Talking to Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Lauren LeFranc confirmed the intention had been to bring Turturro back as the gangster.

We recently got word that Aaron Pierre (Rebel Ridge) had landed the role of John Stewart in the upcoming Dcu Lanterns series, with Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights) officially confirmed to star as Hal Jordan around the same time.

Now, 21x4 has shared some impressive fan-art which may give us an idea of how Pierre and Chandler will look as the rookie ring-slinging hero and the Green Lantern Corps veteran who will become his reluctant mentor.

Pierre was always a fan-favorite pick to play Stewart, but we had heard that fellow frontrunner Stephan James (Babes) was the studio's top choice. We do know that Josh Brolin (and several other A-list actors if reports are to be believed) was offered the role of Jordan, and fans don't seem to have warmed to the idea of Chandler suiting-up as the character just yet.

Although there have been several attempts to bring the character on the big screens, Green Lantern has remained largely unnoticed in the Dceu and the Dcu. However, Aaron Pierre’s announcement as the new Green Lantern changes a lot of things.

HBO's The Penguin may be my favorite show currently on the air, which is a little surprising because it's a superhero spinoff TV show and I go in to those worried they're just going to be lazy cash grabs. But HBO is knocking it out of the park with The Penguin, proving that a superhero show can be as gripping as anything else on the network.
