Peach-Pit is a female manga artist/writer duo in Japan, made up of Banri Sendo and Shibuko Ebara. The duo's name derives from the diner hangout in the TV show Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990).
Utau Hoshina's first name translates into English as "to sing".
Buono!, a Japanese pop band, was created specifically for this anime. Members are Airi Suzuki, Miyabi Natsuyaki, and Momoko Tsugunaga.
Shugokyara!! Doki (2008) is the sequel. It began airing, as season 2, one week after the 51st episode aired, exactly one year after the first episode.
