Keke Palmer recently welcomed her mother, Sharon, onto the “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer” podcast, where the two reminisced on “Quiet on Set” and Palmer’s own history as a child actor at Nickelodeon. Palmer starred in the lead role of the network’s “True Jackson, VP,” which ran for 56 episodes from 2008 to 2011. While the show was not created by Dan Schneider, who was accused of misconduct at Nickelodeon by several actors and writers in “Quiet on Set,” Sharon said she still felt a weird atmosphere from his sets.
“I honestly do remember you having a lot to say about the Dan Schneider sets,” Keke Palmer told her mother during the podcast. “I remember you feeling a way about Nickelodeon.”

Tyler James Williams struggles with relationships as Gregory Eddie on "Abbott Elementary" - and it sounds like the actor also has a bit of trouble with romance in the real world. "[The fame] makes it hard to be seen," he told GQ in a March 22 interview, saying that his notoriety has made it hard to move past surface-level connections. "I've also never gotten a chance to introduce myself to anybody," he continued. "There's something that's really cool about when I look at people and I'm like, 'Damn, y'all met and she ain't know nothing about you. You just were able to give her who you are right now.'"
Williams has been in the spotlight for a while, starring as Chris Rock on "Everybody Hates Chris" beginning in 2005. He also starred as Cyrus DeBarge in Disney Channel's "Let it Shine," played Noah on "The Walking Dead," and currently stars on "Abbott Elementary...

Lauren Palmer was 15 years old when she set out on a seven-night Nickelodeon cruise of the Mexican Riviera. This was 2009, the apex of popularity for the actress’ teen sitcom True Jackson, VP, and the only condition placed on an all-inclusive vacation for her entire family was that she spend a few hours signing autographs on the lido deck. Keke Palmer delivered all the laughs on Tuesday night as the host of the annual Time 100 Next gala, which honored 100 rising stars who are shaping the future of their fields.

On the red carpet before the dinner event began, the “Nope” star expressed interest in headlining her own original studio comedy.
As for who she’d like to grace the big screen with, Palmer told Variety, “I would love to be in something with my girl Melissa McCarthy. I think me and Adam Sandler can make way. If Will Smith’s ready to go back to do some comedies, I’m ready.”
Palmer went on to give a passionate elevator pitch of a comedy she’d like to do with Smith, which would be in the same vein of the 1989 rom-com “Look Who’s Talking.

Keke Palmer cannot be compared. At 28 years old, the actor has over a hundred acting credits to her name. Her latest is as Emerald Haywood in Jordan Peele's "Nope," which just had a massively successful opening weekend. Last year, her Facebook Watch series earned her an Emmy. She also gives a great interview, with her soundbites and facial expressions often inspiring memes. And yet Palmer is now fending off the public's urge to compare her to other stars.
A conversation was sparked on Twitter on July 23 after Teen Vogue writer Aiyana Ishmael noted how Palmer's perceived "breakout" this year ignores her decades of work in the industry. A tweet in response then called for a deep dive comparing Palmer's career to that of Zendaya. The person claimed that though both actors were child stars and have received well-deserved acclaim, Zendaya appeared to gain mainstream popularity more easily.

Keke Palmer joins Nickelodeon pilot
Keke Palmer has been cast as the lead in Nickelodeon's live-action pilot True Fashion.
The tentatively titled project, described as Big meets The Devil Wears Prada, centers on a 15-year-old (Palmer) tapped to head the teen division of a major fashion label. She has a passion for fashion but soon learns that corporate life has the same highs and lows as high school -- complete with cliques and mean girls -- but also comes with such cool perks as designing for up-and-coming rock stars and casting cute models.
The pilot, from creator/executive producer Andy Gordon (Back to You), was picked up in October. It begins shooting this week in Los Angeles, with a cast that also includes Ashley Argota, Danielle Bisutti and Matt Shively and a recurring role featuring Greg Proops ("Whose Line Is It Anyway?").
Palmer won an NAACP Image Award for her role in Akeelah and the Bee. She next appears on the big screen in Dimension's The Longshots, opening in July.
The singer-actress, who also was nominated for a SAG Award for her role in the TNT movie The Wool Cap, released her debut album, So Uncool, last year.

Nick has dibs on 4 comedy pilots
Nickelodeon is having a busy October, handing out pilot orders to four live-action projects and picking up additional episodes of its comedy series "Just Jordan".
The projects receiving pilot pickups are the action-comedy "The Troop", the comedies "The Norton Avenue All-Stars" and "True Fashion" and the music-centric comedy "One 4 All".
"Troop", described as "Ghostbusters" meets "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", revolves around kids who protect the world from supernatural creatures. The project, from the Tom Lynch Co. (Nickelodeon's "Romeo!"), is created and exec produced by writer-director Greg Coolidge and writers Chris Morgan and Max Burnett. Burnett, Morgan and Coolidge are repped by ICM, H2F Entertainment and attorney Jeff Frankel.
"All-Stars" is a comedy about a group of neighborhood best friends that's described as "The Little Rascals" meets puberty. It's from creator/exec producer Boyd Hale.
"True Fashion", described as "Project Runway" meets "Big", is from creator/exec producer Andy Gordon.
"One 4 All", a comedy about a boy band, is from creator Scott Fellows.
Marjorie Cohn, executive vp development and original programming at Nickelodeon, said it's possible that all four -- a mix of single- and multicamera projects -- could get series orders.
