“Nightingale,” a new action thriller, was filmed in Bulgaria and takes a dramatic look at the current war between Russia and Ukraine through a dangerous rescue mission lens. Lamonica Garrett plays a former special forces soldier who now works as a private military contractor trying to save his stolen adopted daughter.

The movie, directed by William Kaufman, who is known for making action movies, tries to show how complicated the human stories that come out of foreign conflicts are. Garrett’s character has to go through dangerous areas while trying to save people from Russian forces in a frantic rescue mission.

The movie has a great group cast, with Jason Patric as a CIA handler and Andrew Howard as a former CIA agent who worked in Ukraine. Daniel Bernhardt will play the bad guy, a Russian general in charge of the kidnapping.

“Nightingale,” an action thriller set against the backdrop of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, has pulled the curtain back on its ensemble, casting “Special Ops: Lioness” and “1883” star Lamonica Garrett to lead the picture. Jason Patric, Andrew Howard and Daniel Bernhardt are also starring.

The picture comes from producers Isaac Lewis and Andrew Lewis of Denton Film. Low-budget staple William Kaufman is directing the feature, which recently wrapped principal photography in Bulgaria. Kaufman co-write the script with Paul Reichelt, who also serves as executive producer.

Garrett is best known for his roles on “Sons of Anarchy” and “Designated Survivor.” He stars in “Nightingale” as an American Special Forces Operator and private military contractor, who must balance tending to civilian lives while rescuing his adoptive daughter, who is kidnapped and taken hostage by Russian forces in Ukraine. Patric plays a CIA handler with a shared history with Garrett’s character.

Headliners the Killers served up fan favorites, Skrillex got a stage named after him, and Future x Metro Boomin drew so many fans that the audience was asked to take five steps back, twice, during their set on Lollapalooza 2024’s penultimate day on Saturday in Chicago’s Grant Park. Killer Mike, Deftones, and Four Tet were also among the highlights from Day Three.

The eight-part series, titled “The Monaro,” is a project that Shortland has been mulling over since her days at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School.

The Mindy Project regular is set to star in the action-comedy Bad Cop, Bad Cop, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Amblin Pictures has picked up the spec screenplay from Feimster, Brian Jarvis and Jim Freeman. The R-rated title follows two hapless cops who stumble on a case that exposes a conspiracy of corruption in their own precinct.

Scott Stuber’s Bluegrass Films is also in talks to produce the film. It would be its second collaboration with Amblin, as they also paired for 2016's Office Christmas Party, which featured Feimster.

Also announced this afternoon was a “Parks and Recreation” community screening. On the surface, “Santa Clarita Diet” should provide a lot for fans to talk about. It’s Drew Barrymore’s first TV show as a series regular. It's amazing to me that it took Canada twenty years to produce Gridlocked, the kind of fun, buddy cop action movie that ran its course by the mid 90's in most territories (and yes, I'm aware of Bon Cop, Bad Cop). Perhaps even more amazing is how this kind of movie - once a mainstream staple - is now considered "indie"! But, here we are, discussing the new action film by director Allan Ungar, which wears its love of 80's and 90's actioners like Lethal Weapon and The Hard Way on its sleeve and ends up being an enjoyable action movie if not particularly unique.

News from Hollywood, Los Angeles: Liam Neeson is starring in a new action movie. Except it's technically an action-comedy... and it's called The Revenger.

Helmed by Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer, there is no official synopsis accompanying the announcement, but it's pretty clear what is going on: the Taken star is taking the mick out of himself.

This follows in the footsteps of Neeson's glorious cameo in Ted 2, where he also has fun with his action persona. Then there's his voice role as Good Cop / Bad Cop in The Lego Movie, which may well be the best thing he's ever done, ever, ever, ever.

Okay, that might be taking it a bit far, but this week’s episode of Grimm was a lot of fun to watch, as the gang pooled their efforts to rescue Monroe from the clutches of a psychopathic cult.

Firstly, letting Wu into the secret is without doubt a crowd-pleaser. Nick and Hank attempt to ease him into the world of Grimm without freaking him out too much, bringing in the least terrifying of Wesen – Bud – to demonstrate woging.
