Comedians Alexander Armstrong and Ben Miller present a series of skits. Many characters and scenarios are recurring, e.g. Enlightenment, the Origins of... (featuring cavepeople), the WW2 fighter pilots who speak like vacuous teens, the Russian football club owner.
Very funny: some great punchlines, observations on modern society, dark humour, topical discussions and original takes on things. However, due to using the same characters and scenarios over and over, it can be quite repetitive. It doesn't have to be - you can reuse a template but still keep the humour fresh and the punchline unpredictable - but some jokes were just the same joke told slightly differently. Some became so predictable that you could see the punchline a mile off.
This repetitiveness was worst in Season 1 and was made worse by some characters and scenarios that weren't that interesting to start off with. Things improved in Season 2 though as the skits became less predictable.
Season ratings: S1 7/10, S2&3 8.5/10.
