What could be better than Daniels and bronzi?? Anyone expecting an Oscar quality film should know better.. sit back and just have some fun....................
Grief! Some of the reviewers here clearly didn't experience the home video boom of the 80s. When you rented a 'bad' film you watched it to the end, sometimes twice. Is this as bad as some of those? No.
It's low budget for sure, but you have to admire how hard everyone is trying, I've seen worse actors in bigger films.
The first fight, in the garden cracked me up, it goes from someone being hit with a shovel to a martial arts display.
In summary: it's a low budget, low rent revenge movie with some guy that looks like Charles Bronson (for those that know who that is), set in the English countryside. Comical double takes and a dude that yells, 'she saw my face!' a lot.

I think the worst part was the terrible fight choreography. A Chinese artist,(Daniels) was terrible and his reference to the Japanese Samurai really had nothing to do with anything. The casting was off - A 25 year old playing the mid-teen son was not believable in this role. Should cast a teen to play a teen. The greasy haired father was so over the top horrible to his wife that it is hard to believe they ever had children. The maid would have been fired long ago with her unnecessary hateful attitude toward everyone. The "crew" robbing the house is so unbelievably stupid and violent they could not rob a McDonalds. Script - pretty poor. Just not worth the watch. I stopped half way.

I am having a really bad night with films; having just finished watching my 3rd absolutely load of rubbish film in a row...this one, 'RELENTLESS (2021) and a swedish film called, 'RED DOT' (2021).
The acting in 'The Gardener' was stiff (due to an awful script) and the fight choreography rates as some of the worst I have ever seen...and I have seen a lot! Charles Bronzi (the headliner star) - the Charles Bronson lookalike - is making films akin to Charles Bronsons, "DEATH WISH" series of films from director Michael Winner. The difference is he doesn't have that same on screen presence that Bronson had and the films are badly scripted/directed rubbish etc! Gary Daniels is the other star and as per usual, with his screen appearances, he was dull and unimpressive. He is a well known Martial Artist and has made films of that ilk for many years now. I have no idea what he is really like as a fighter - as I have never seen him fight in real life - but he is an extremely boring fighter in his films; with no originality or decent onscreen style whatsoever.
The result of both parties being in this film is therefore a guaranteed tedious load of dross!
If you have nothing to do go and find something else to do...but don't watch this if you are needing some good cinematic entertainment!

The acting and fight scenes were absolute trash. The whole movie was awful. Everyone involved in this should rethink their employment. The only one redeemed is the photographer.

Doesn't anyone in entertainment have integrity anymore to collectively speak up and declare a script to be absolute garbage instead be associated with it for the sake of exposure??? Really??? I am absolutely SURE that if all the actors got together and rewrote the script and I don't mean a total rewrite but enough fine tuning to make the end result at least watchable. Instead, they get the shame of being included in a total waste of time. Get some balls and stand up and make a difference before the entire industry gets reduced to the same place as newspaper, the trash can.

If you ever enjoyed watching Charles Bronson at work, you will enjoy this. With the lead actor, Robert Bronzi, I believe that is what they wanted to think. My opinion, it was worth watching as a DVD rental. Go for it!

I never heard of Robert Bronzi but when you watch this movie, you understand why this guy gets to make movies. He looks like Charles Bronson. That's it. He has zero acting or fighting skills. He seems like a nice man and if you read about him, he is. But this guy has no business making movies.
This movie was just awful. It's a 90 minute movie and it just drags for the first 50 minutes. Nothing happens, and then when it does, it's still poorly done. The fight scenes are pathetic. The only person in the movie who appears to have real skills is the main bad guy but what "choreography" on the fights scenes that there is was done so poorly, it's like watching little kids pretend fights. They're "fighting" slowly and you see the actors waiting for the next "punch" and reacting. It's pathetic.
And Bronzi, despite what his press release might say, he NO fighting skills of any kind. It's embarrassing that were supposed to believe this is some tough guy. Looking like Charles Bronson doesn't mean you are Bronson and changing your last name so it's similar to "Bronson" doesn't make you Charles Bronson.
His "fight scenes" are just terrible.
Looking at posters of other Bronzi movies, it looks like they're using a picture of the actual Bronson in the poster. I think a lot of the time they're hoping people think it is Charles Bronson and once you've paid for the movie you're caught and can't get out.
Hopefully no one falls for this. If I looked like Stallone but has zero acting skills and someone wanted to put me in movies, I'd politely decline because I HAVE NO ACTING SKILLS.
I suspect this guy will make a few more movies but he's older and when they realize no one is paying for this, he'll stop. Hopefully sooner than later.

Acting so wooden they make Thunderbirds puppets look real life . Fight scenes straight out of a slow motion WWE Wrestling ring . Think I am being generous with 2 stars .
The new kinda Charels Bronson stars in this home invasion thriller thats a mix of horror and action. Pretty basic but an amusing enough watch. Decent thriller but nothing great.

Very cheesy film, especially the action sequences. Die Hard it is nit. I liked the music, which added to the suspense. I also liked the fact that the hero was vegetarian.
Not really worth a 9 but I thought the film was better than the current imdb rating of 3.5.

It is not a total waste of time watching this movie. You can learn how not to direct a movie. It has got to be one of the worst movies ever. The sad part is it doesn't take much effort to make it realistic. The director is just lazy and stupid. Nobody behaves like the gardener. You don't shoot away blindly wasting bullets or use your fists when you can use your gun. You don't suddenly being able to stand up and fight after being shot in the leg. These kind of idiotic movies are made by idiotic clueless people who think audience are gullible people. If you want to use violence to entertain then go all the way. Shoot the intruders in the head.

Most movies, however abysmal, have at least one redeeming feature...not this one...this is a masterclass in crap moviemaking from start to finish.
I can only assume it was made the day before the director arrived on set...they made a mistake and released the first rough rehearsal as the finished product.
The father looks and dresses like a crackhead...the mother a baglady...the gardener a monosyllabic moron....the bad guys pathetically stereotyped.
The set appears to be a derelict 'stately home' with matching garden.
The 'action' scenes choreographed by 5 year old kids.
The 'script'....lol....lol.

This production was simply lazy, which is a shame since a decent amount of work obviously went into it. The bad guys' interactions were ridiculous, the fights slow and wooden, and the "pregnant" woman had a lumpy tummy that wasn't even round (and she was clearly breathing as she lay there after being shot in the head). Fun that the gardener looks like Charles Bronson, but that's about all this movie had going for it.

What absolute crap, low budget movie, actors and plot. Absolute trash. Movie making is obviously a lost art with this one. Have to put it on 3x speed to tolerate it.

Watching the fights in this is like being at boxing or martial arts class, and watching the instructors clinically demonstrate the various moves. It's let down by overall bad directorial vision and lame dialogue. Most of the characters are unconvincing. This might not be their fault altogether, but the directors fault for not filtering inappropriate performances out, and casting badly, which is part of the lack of vision that causes this film to feel defective.

It is hard to believe that in this day and age where movie making has come so far, that there could ever be something so indescribably terrible.
Let's just hope that this atrocity is not repeated and that director and producer rethink their career paths.

The trouble with imdb ratings is that (for me) it has a poor correlation with how much I enjoy a film. Sure there are some great highly rated films, but others less interesting than watching people trying to reverse park outside.
This movie is a wildcard - you'd normally take one look at the reviews and run a mile. Like other reviews have stated this is a low quality production with very unconvincing fighting sequences and poor acting.
Some of the decisions made by the characters were bizarre and make no sense. Multiple times the bad guys would come back to life after being hit with metal objects/ and shot multiple times.
However, the movie is watchable if you ignore all the glaring issues and stuff any film related snobbery you may have.

He's pruning the bonsai, but soon he'll be saving your family in a home invasion gone wrong. Nothing can save this low budget movie that shows a broken family saved by their help.

I finished the movie so I gave it an extra star but:
- the plot was terrible;
- the fight scenes were lame;
- the family (and the maid) was unlikeable; and
- the bad guys were stupid; and
- there was lots of unnecessary screaming.
In two words, immaculately astounding
In three words, those colours tho
This picture has some incredible colour work and as such entails that the team is well competent in their disciplines.

Escape from Death block 13 delivered More with the action but this movie had more heart and character development. The action does deliver in the third act. And there's some good fights and gardening tools used as weapons. I felt like bronzie wasn't as good in the fight scenes. But that might have been on purpose because it fits the character because he's just an everyday Gardener and that made the bad guys underestimate him. He was Forced to use his army skills to protect the people He cares about and Kick-Ass. This is an indie movie so the acting is ok enough but it was shot well by the directors. I look forward to their next movie. I think they could do a lot with a bigger budget. Shut off your brain and enjoy a fun action movie with a twist on the home invasion sub genre.

If looking like Charles Bronson is good enough to get cast as a lead, then they should have taken the better route and just dug up Mr. Bronson.
The fight scenes were painful to watch due to their bad, or rather what I assume to be, no choreography.
The CGI effects never seemed to line up with what they were showing, like flash effects from gun barrels or bullet wounds.
Do yourself a favor and watch an hour and a half of dogs sh****ng on lawns, and you'll have a better evening.
