This is not only a fantastic insight into what it takes to be at the absolute pinnacle of your sport, but it is also a superbly made film.
Olivia Cappuccini has put together a beautiful documentary on how one of the best sportsmen on the planet desperately tries to get back his fitness following a potential career ending injury. We see that for a sportsperson like this it is not a solo endeavour; he is part of a team, and we see how much Andy relies on the inputs from that team, and the consequences of not listening to them.
It successfully demonstrates how incredibly small margins that mean nothing to us mere mortals, are the difference between continuing or ending a professional sports career.
It is beautifully made, and Andy Murray himself lays it all out for us to see...and more importantly, the love and support he has from his wife Kim, who is a partner who completely understands what it takes to support someone to achieve greatness.
Liking Andy Murray himself is not necessarily relevant to the enjoyment of it, although that does make it all the better.

This is one of the best documentaries about sport's players ever crested and probably the best of a tennis one. You can connect with Andy just as the crowd do in the courts. The Documentary shows literally what was on Andy's head during whole process of injuries, surgeries and rehabilitation almost directly with not much cuts neither editing. Also, this production never falls in the extra dramatization, the manipulation of feelings or the way of be a "feel good" story. It's pretty real bad honest to us and let us meet more about who Andy really is. The voice notes and the self recording moments are simply perfect, because they make us feel close to the player and let us know the backstage of all that process of recuperation. Finally, I'd like to say Andy puts on the table many things about social media, magazines, newspapers and a so, that really make us thing about what we say en social media about famous pakyers, and what's more relevant, what the big journalist and experts say about players.
It's so great to see his journey . I'm sure this documentary will give hope to those athletes who are undergoing tough times in their lives with injuries .. I'm so inspired by you Andy . Keep on being an example to many .. Wishing you more success in your amazing career .

This was such a great documentary! Real life of a superstar who has achieved everything in his sport but yet having to battle to control his destiny on when to retire and the frustration of having that taken away from you by your own body!
The dedication and frustrations that have gone along with it were incredible to watch. This was such an eye opening look into Andy Murray as a person and also why he has achieved what he has in his career. It was fantastic!! And for those that weren't fans, watch this movie, it'll give you a different perspective on someone who's just a regular guy who's worked unbelievably hard to achieve his greatness!

The documentary is a fly on the wall of the pressure he places on himself. To give up and just not playing is not an option.

I'm a tennis player myself and love sports in general. This was a brilliant watch to see the ups and downs of Andy's journey, you see the positive and the negatives aspects and everything that he went through.
There's a few personal moments where you hear private voice notes and videos he recorded when he couldn't sleep at night. There's some lovely words from his wife Kim throughout, she must have been his saviour through everything he's gone through.
Let's not forget he's recently won the European Open, and 2020 looks bright for Andy, can't wait to see what it brings for him!

If you follow Andy's career , like myself, then really there is nothing new nor surprising about this Documentary.
Apart from a few interesting bits about rehab it's what we already know.
Superb documentary. Insightful for those going through similar issues (including myself) and inspiring for anyone encountering difficulties achieving what they want to or accepting new realities. The documentary gives a unique insight into the life of a top flight professional and what it takes to get to the top, fall and get back there again. An emotional rollercoaster and Andy seems to leave little out.

I really enjoyed this film about Andy Murray. It was raw, honest, emotional, uplifting & inspirational film. I may have teared up watching the pain and agony on Andy's face. The film also showed a side to Andy I have never seen before, his humor, joking personality, love for his family and his surrounding team. It was super cool. The film does an excellent job capturing so many emotions surrounding his recovery and his tennis. Lastly the film had such a nice flow and rhythm to it and I didn't want it to end.
Andy thanks for sharing your journey. I have a much better understanding of the sacrifices, dedication and hard work that go into his job. Nothing but compleat respect. Jeff from (Seattle)

Amazing documentary, a must watch. Olivia has captured Andy in his rawest form. Andy is honest, though provoking and incredibly determined throughout. As someone who didn't know him much before this was a truly fantastic insight into how hard he works and the dedication he gives to the sport.

A real insight into the comeback of one of Britain's greatest ever sportsmen both physically and psychologically a real behind the scenes look into the process of the comeback and his life. Perfectly catches the genuine emotion of each stage. Absolutely enthralling.

This documentary embodies everything a sports documentary should be - a raw story of struggle, determination, and incredible perseverance whilst also coming to terms with what life looks like after/without professional sports. Olivia captures Andy in the most honest and unfiltered way. For someone who didn't know much about him as a person or about his career, I came away from it respecting him and his journey immensely. The team he has around him is also such a joy to watch and I was taken aback by how witty and funny the entire film was! A must-watch!

It has everything to do with tennis and yet nothing at all. Powerful, timely and moving. Brave and bold and I hope this sets a precedent for docs moving forwards.

Found this so much better than most sports documentaries, it felt cinematic and epic. Incredible
Film. Takes you so close to Andy murray that you can't help but root for him, the final sequence has to be one of my favorite pieces of film ever. The music choices can't help but make you cry. What Andy murray has achieved is nothing short of remarkable, I watched this after he won his first round in the Australian open in 2023 and it makes the match seem even more incredible. I only hope he can go on to achieve happiness in a post tennis life.
Props to an incredible (no doubt enormous) team who made this film. Much more enjoyable than the drive to survive tennis version on Netflix.

I must admit, I wasn't always the biggest fan of Andy Murray. However, "Andy Murray: Resurfacing" has completely changed my perspective and caught my attention. This documentary is not just about tennis; it's an extraordinary portrayal of a genuine, principled, and authentically passionate fighter. I was so lucky I got to be his fan and saw him play a few more years before leaving the pro tour in 2024.
Watching Murray's incredible journey through his injuries and recovery has been nothing short of transformative. His resilience and dedication are profoundly moving, and they reveal a side of him that transcends the court. The way he confronts adversity with unwavering strength and humility is truly inspiring.
This documentary made me realise just how remarkable Murray's character is. His battle to return to tennis, against all odds, is a testament to his exceptional spirit and commitment. It's rare to see such an honest and heartfelt portrayal of an athlete's struggle, and "Resurfacing" delivers that in spades.
If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend watching "Andy Murray: Resurfacing." It's more than just a sports film; it's a powerful reminder of the human spirit's capacity to overcome challenges. Even if you weren't a fan before, this documentary will make you root for Murray and admire his extraordinary journey. It's a 10/10 experience that you won't want to miss.
This film makes me proud to be an Andy Murray fan.

Andy's work ethic is the finest I have ever seen. His relationship with his team is simply beautiful. Lopez is fit. He has the most amount of grit and determination bottle up in one person ever. Kim is beautiful - I knew this already. But clearly A wonderful women. What a legend!!! I think Digby (my dog) and Rusty (Andy & Kim's dog) would be the greatest of friends.

I was always going to have a positive leaning towards this documentary because I think Andy is brilliant - he's a real, candid bloke which is rare in anyone in the spotlight. But, regardless of that, it's a story worth telling, relatable to anyone who is suffering from injury or life's difficulties. It's also told very well, great cinematography with great personal moments like voicenotes.
