Or is it? No pun intended - I will not go into details about whatever happened with the lead actress here (well you may disagree with that term, but with a movie like this, there has to be some acting involved at least), but it may be a reason why some people might find this .. gem. And that may also be a pun depending on if you think I am talking about the movie or her.
All that aside, the movie starts off with ... well what you would expect from an adult movie. There is a lot of comedy with ... everything though. Even Stormy herself does not seem to be able to keep a straight face. I watched this with her and another one of the actors on audio commentary. I reckon I found out about those movies the same way you did - I also remember that some people who rented those movies didn't like the fact that all the scenes were made with condoms. Well I can't help you with "issues" like that. It is safer for all involved.
Dream sequences and all the funny stuff really make this an easy watch. The actors are all easy on the eye - and if you are into that stuff, I reckon the 3 hours are over before you know it. The good thing is: you can watch this and just skip every ... well "dirty" scene and just enjoy the fun stuff ... ok definition of fun may vary. Again this is quite silly. I was surprised that Stormy seemed fond of Ron Jeremy (audio commentary again), because of all the stuff that has been revealed ever since ... but maybe she was not able to go into details. I wish there would be subtitles - especially for those who may want to listen to the audio commentary and still be aware of ... first world problems. No pun intended. The title itself is a sort of pun - which I guess makes it at least a little bit political ... anyway.
The interesting thing: Stormy not only wrote this, but directed this. In case you thought she is not talented ... or only has one talent ... or whatever you want to call it/her. She had quite the hurdles to overcome (no not those kinds of) and it was surely hard ... ok come one, you have to write this at least once. She did it her way - and came out on top in the end - in more than one way. Not everything is politically correct, but then again it at least has women empowerment overall.

Operation Desert Stormy is dumb sexy fun - simple as that! It is three hours of James Bond parody that is lifted by a superior cast. The sex is not overwhelming - it IS a couple's movie - but it doesn't get in the way of the plot. Stormy did an excellent job on this movie and gave Steven St, Croix enough room to goon about to great effect. Reliable actors such as Randy Spears and Ron Jeremy also do well.
My only complaint would be that it is three hours long. Too much of a good thing. Nice action sequences, though, and a great (by porn standards) parachuting sequence. Explosions and fight scenes vie with the usual orgies and lesbian action.
Stormy is also a terrific light comedian, hugely under-rated, who can get a laugh with just the twitch of an eyebrow or a sideways glance. If you liked Pirates or Space Balls, this is an excellent movie in a similar style.

With an 8-day shoot and fine cast, this Stormy hit from a decade back reminds us of the time when big-deal Adult features were still viable. I suspect it stands as the veteran star's biggest hit.
Though there is some good stuntwork and action scenes, writer-director Daniels concentrates on rom-com content, her forte as filmmaker. Her chemistry with Steven St. Croix (playing her secret agent husband) is evident and of course her sexiness impressive.
Many other busty beauties like Veronica Rayne, villainess Nicole Sheridan and Audrey Bitoni flesh out the cast in a silly story of foiling terrorists in the Middle East, obviously shot on California locations.
Worth checking out, especially now that such well-crafted, larger scale Adult features are no longer made.
