After Alex drove Zach home, they went for a run outside. At first, Zach was wearing a gray jacket. Then his gray jacket magically disappeared at the end of the run.
When Jackie sees Zach and Alex walk into the ice rink where she's teaching kids how to ice skate, she says, "Zach Conroy, it's been what, five years since Torino." Later, in Paris, the signs around the rink say 'Paris 2008.' The 2006 Winter Olympics were in Torino, making it only two years later instead of five.
Alejandra would have not have been able to compete in senior level pairs. To compete senior level pairs, both skaters have to pass tests for each level. For pairs skaters, they have to pass all levels of moves in the field and pairs free skate tests. So even if she was qualified it would be unlikely she could have passed all 20 tests in a matter of months.
During their first performance, when Alex gets lifted into the air, you can see that she is wearing white socks not white skates.
Zach and Alex live in Seattle, and began training together there. In Seattle, broadcast station call letters begin with the letter "K", along with all broadcast stations west of the Mississippi River. When a local news station van shows up to interview them while they're training, the call letters are "WIXB", which would be assigned to a station east of the Mississippi.
