Once you get over the pretentiousness of this Digital Playground release, you can enjoy the skill of actress-turned-director Lena Paul in handling a familiar "waiting for the apocalypse" sci-fi drama.
Lena does not appear on screen, but displays talent in the manner of a stage director helming an off-Broadway play. For me, the most impressive element of this show was the creation of an almost J.G. Ballard atmosphere (read his short story collection "Vermilion Sands" for example) of languorous folks chatting and having sex, decadent to the point of aimlessness. "On the Beach" this ain't.
Acting is quite good, except for voluptuous Karma RX, whose porn career certainly is not about her thespian prowess. Her line readings are highly artificial and throw off the verisimilitude generated by her co-stars.
Paul adventurously goes for several surreal effects, including an unusual scene in which all but one of the cast members are frozen in place, not via editing or SPFX but just physical acting, typical of the overall stage play feel.
Shown in three episodes (typical of made-for-streaming current XXX production mode), the DVD is unfortunately padded by seven minutes of the same highlights montage repeated three times in succession prior to the movie's start -typically poor editing associated with so many recent Digital Playground and Brazzers DVDs.
Lena's storytelling goes a bit astray with later segments in which lovely maid Cecilia Lion appears, and which cryptically are never fully explained as to their reality, or merely being an erotic fantasy by star Alina Lopez. But overall the show holds one's interest beyond mere sexual content.
