Horror films have always been a way to interrogate the anxieties of a time, society, or culture and reflect them to the viewer -- like a twisted funhouse mirror. Fear is a universal emotion and history is known to repeat itself, so horror is a genre filled with remakes, some of which are very good. Sometimes, like in the case of Leigh Whannell's "The Invisible Man," a remake evolves into something entirely different than the original story to better resonate with modern audiences. And sometimes a remake is, unfortunately, nothing more than a blatant cash grab from a studio looking to squeeze some blood out of the all-holy stone of "Recognizable IP."
And then there are the most controversial of all remakes: the Americanized remake.
Despite the knee-jerk reaction claiming otherwise, American remakes are neither inherently inadequate nor synonymous with "unnecessary." TV shows like "Shameless" and "The Office" are American remakes,...

Considering how many serious injuries the Jackass cast members have suffered over the years, one would think that even before Jackass Forever, they had reached the limit of their willingness to pull off dangerous stunts. Jackass Forever is the fourth movie in Jeff Tremaine’s reality comedy film series, which came after Jackass 3D (2010).
However, the filming process was interrupted by some of the ludicrous, and risky stunts that resulted in injuries to the main character of the franchise. Indeed, Johnny Knoxville earlier talked about the major bull stunt that caused him to suffer brain damage and has revealed whether or not he regrets being a part of such a risky act.

When audiences consider 3D as a medium, the abiding image seems to be of items popping out from the screen — a limb here in “Jaws 3D,” a dildo there in “Jackass 3D” — and perhaps that is indeed how most filmmakers have used the medium. Not enough directors have capitalized on the ability of 3D to convey a sense of physical depth; fewer still have seized on the possibility of adding philosophical depth. Thank goodness, then, for Wim Wenders. The first of two new films by the German veteran in this year’s Cannes official selection, “Anselm” is a tour-de-force 3D 6K portrait of the artist Anselm Kiefer, both rich in ideas and breathtaking in technical execution.
Though undoubtedly a powerful confrontation with some of the biggest themes art can tackle — mortality, permanence, being, nothingness, all the hits — “Anselm” remains an accessible experience, partly because of its manageable 93-minute runtime and...

The Jackass series debuted on MTV in 2000, quickly becoming one of the most popular television shows. It followed the antics of a group of friends as they engaged in outrageous stunts, pranks, and dangerous physical challenges. The show cast included Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-o, Chris Pontius, Wee Man, Dave England, Preston Lacy, and Ryan Dunn.
Despite parental and political worries about the show’s potential impact on younger viewers, it quickly skyrocketed in popularity. After three seasons of wading through constant censorship notes from MTV, Knoxville and his pals decided to end their run; thus began, Jackass’ successful transition to the silver screen era.
The Jackass franchise spawned several movies that were released between 2002 and 2022, in the following order:
All the Jackass Movies in Order of Release Date Jackass The Movie (2002) Jackass Number Two (2006) Jackass 2.5 (2007) Jackass Presents Mat Hoffman’s Tribute to Evel Knievel (2008) Jackass 3D (2010) Jackass 3.5 (2011) Jackass Presents...

This weekend’s scheduled episodes of two Showtime dramas have been jacked. The premium cabler said today that it will air the Paramount Pictures theatrical sequel Jackass Forever in the Sunday 8-10 p.m. slots usually occupied by The Chi and City on a Hill.
Both series will return on Sunday, August 28, Showtime said. The season finale of The Chi now will air on September 4.
Arriving more than a decade after Jackass 3D, the previous film in the self-flagellating-stunt franchise, Jackass Forever bowed in theaters in February, making off with 23.5 million domestic en route to a 57.7 million gross and 80.3 million worldwide.
Season 5 of Lena Waithe’s Chicago-set coming-of-age story The Chi delves deeply into the many joys and complications of Black love: relationships, children, career, community and self. Given all the mortal wounds, broken bones, bruises, and old aging, there had been a twelve-year gap between “Jackass 3D” and the fourth “Jackass” film. However, the crew of stuntmen pranksters made their glorious return earlier this year alongside new additions to the roster for “Jackass Forever.” Many assumed the introduction of fresh-faced newbies was a sign that a series was eventually going to go forward and it looks like that is indeed the case.

If you felt yourself mourning the end of "Jackass" following the completion of "Jackass Forever," don't waste your tears because this ain't the end of the line for our favorite group of doofuses. Just as "Jackass 2" and "Jackass 3D" ended up with enough footage and ridiculous stunts to constitute another feature-length film each, there was plenty of goodness left out of "Jackass Forever" that Johnny Knoxville, Steve-o, Chris Pontius, Wee Man, Preston Lacy, Dave England, Danger Ehren, and the rest of the team couldn't in good faith leave on the cutting room floor. All hail co-creator and director Jeff Tremaine, because...

Fortunately for "Jackass Forever" fans, the wait to watch this movie at home will be far less excruciating than its initial delay in theatrical release. Finally bestowed upon audiences during the first wintry days of February, the latest of the Johnny Knoxville and gang-starring "Jackass" film series will now grace our own personal screens just in time for spring. Released over a decade after the last installment, 2010's "Jackass 3D," there was a palpable air of anticipation ahead of "Jackass Forever," which was originally set to be released March 5, 2021. Due to the pandemic, the film's premiere was pushed back a grand total of...

A staple of the comedy genre has forever been watching people get hurt, and nowhere is this more evident than in the continuing legacy of the “Jackass” franchise.
What started as a MTV reality series in which various jackasses performed increasingly stupid stunts for the benefit of the cameras before them eventually evolved into a four-film movie franchise spanning two entire decades.
“Jackass: The Movie” was released in theaters in 2002 and was intended to be the conclusion to “Jackass” – a feature film capper after a three-season run on TV. But after grossing nearly $80 million on a budget of just $5 million, “Jackass” the movie franchise was born.
Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-o, Chris Pontius and many, many more continued to make fools of themselves for the camera in three additional feature films released across the next 20 years.

Ready to get kicked in the face by an annoyed donkey?
This is the question that many “Jackass” stars have faced over the years, first on the beloved MTV prank show and then in the series of increasingly ridiculous (and weirdly endearing) movies. The latest “Jackass” endeavor, “Jackass Forever,” is now upon us, full of oversized contraptions, precarious situations, and serious self-injury that makes you say “ouch” aloud even if you’re in a crowded cinema. The fourth theatrical film in the franchise is once again directed by “Jackass” co-creator Jeff Tremaine, just so you know that the quality hasn’t been diluted at all.
But where can you watch Johnny Knoxville and the boys give themselves concussions? Read below to find out!

When it comes to comedies, Hollywood has mostly written off the movie genre as fodder for streaming services. And, maybe it’s for good reason. Since big-screen funny films like “The Hangover” trilogy, “Step Brothers” and “Anchorman” hit their zenith in the 2000s, straight comedies have mostly fallen out of favor with ticket buyers.
But every so often, there’s a big, loud exception that bucks Hollywood’s conventional wisdom; in this instance, the idea that comedies should only be relegated to Netflix and its ilk. That was the case over the weekend as Paramount’s over-the-top slapstick jamboree “Jackass Forever,” the fourth film in the long-running franchise, debuted at the top of domestic box office charts with a better-than-expected $23.5 million. At the same time, director Roland Emmerich’s big-budget science-fiction spectacle “Moonfall” crash-landed with a disappointing $10 million.

Paramount’s “Jackass Forever” has taken over the top spot at the box office with a $23.5 million opening weekend from 3,604 locations, joining “Scream” as the second Paramount film to open to No. 1 in 2022.
The return of the irreverent MTV stunt series has opened well below the $50 million start earned by “Jackass 3D” in 2010, though that was to be expected given the ongoing impact of the pandemic on most box office receipts. As with pretty much every film that has found box office success this past year despite the adversity, “Jackass Forever” has relied on turnout from younger male audiences with theaters in Los Angeles accounting for 27 of the top 40 highest grossing locations.
“Jackass Forever” also has something that its predecessors did not: strong word of mouth. Along with a B+ on CinemaScore, it sports the highest Rotten Tomatoes critics score ever in the series with 87%. How much that can help this film is unclear,...

Paramount’s new Jackass Forever film has drawn condemnation from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, which called for a criminal investigation into the production.
The film was released this week and so far has grossed an estimated $20 million. The sequel to 2010’s Jackass 3D, it is the fourth main installment and the fifth overall installment in the Jackass film series.
PETA claimed a stunt in which Johnny Knoxville and Steve-o provoke honeybees into stinging Steve-o’s penis (killing many of them), and another in which a scorpion is put in someone’s mouth and hit repeatedly until the animal stings are particularly worrisome.
The organization has sent letters to Los Angeles city and San Luis Obispo County prosecutors about the matter. PETA points out that the Paramount Pictures movie—which appears to have been filmed at least partially in Los Angeles and San Luis Obispo County—likely broke state animal protection laws.

It’s no longer a shock, or even much of a surprise, to see full-frontal male nudity in a reckless youth comedy. But in “Jackass Forever,” it’s not just that there’s a whole lotta full frontal; by the end of the film, the nutsacks of half the cast members have begun to feel like family. The movie opens with a “Godzilla” parody, in which the residents of New York run screaming from the sight of a hulking dino reptile. Except that the shots of the giant beast were created on a miniature mock-up of Manhattan, and the green lizard king — as we’re shown in a setup shot — is actually the penis and scrotum of Chris Pontius, bedecked with a fake head and platelets. When people talk about the glory of experiencing movies on the big screen, I’m not sure if having this thing in your face...

The gang are back with more fantastically pointless and bad-taste feats involving bears, bulls, scorpions and spiders
Twenty years on, after innumerable TV series and spin-offs, lawsuits and movie franchise iterations the Jackass crew is back with yet another festival of fantastically pointless and immature bad taste, including a new younger generation of Jackass stuntsters who tell the camera they can’t believe they’re on the show they grew up with. The last film was Jackass 3D in 2010, part of the 3D craze in cinema which has now been quietly abandoned without anyone noticing or caring. But Jackass marches on.

Down with the patriarchy! Unless, of course, they themselves are down with torturing each other for our amusement, in which case, welcome back, Johnny Knoxville and Friends!
A dignity massacre just in time for St. Valentine’s Day, the sociological documentary “Jackass Forever” is an all-new collection of raucously perilous prankery from its modern masters, twelve years after the last one (“Jackass 3D”).
One can only assume the long pause was to give the gang a chance to get their nerve back up, while roping in diverse new comrades to the comedic possibilities of extreme, how-is-this-insurable slapstick.
To put it bluntly: If this is for you, it’s hilarious; if it’s not for you, it’s still hilarious. Just stay away. It’s been a hard couple of years dealing with an unseen menace, so there should be no shame in the cathartic laughter to be found in a...

Will this be the weekend that “Spider-Man: No Way Home” is dethroned at the box office once and for all?
Paramount’s go-for-broke action comedy “Jackass Forever” and director Roland Emmerich’s disaster epic “Moonfall” certainly hope that’s the case. After an excruciatingly slow January at the movies, one that let “Spider-Man” tower over the competition for weeks, the two nationwide releases will try their hand at getting audiences to multiplexes.
“Jackass Forever,” the fourth installment in the ongoing saga of projectiles to the groin, appears to have the best shot at taking down “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” which has spent six of the last seven weeks at No. 1. The latest “Jackass” adventure is expected to bring in $15 million to $20 million from 3,590 North American theaters in its debut. “Moonfall” is targeting a start that’s closer to $10 million or $12 million from 3,400 venues.

After two weekends without any major-studio wide releases amid Omicron fears, Paramount and Lionsgate will try to lure moviegoers back with Jackass Forever and Centropolis Entertainment’s Moonfall, respectively
Exhibition hopefully will see more traffic after the Northeast experienced cabin fever from winter storm Kenan last weekend. Rolling winter-into-spring breaks don’t go into effect until February 18, per Comscore’s school calendar; that’s when 22% of K-12 schools are off and 8% of colleges. This Friday, it’s just 1% K-12 off and 2% colleges. Having Ontario movie theaters in Canada reopened with concessions doesn’t hurt.
Right now it’s looking like mid-teen millions for the Jeff Tremaine-directed Jackass Forever at No. 1 in 3,590 theaters. The movie is tracking with males under 25, but younger females are showing some decent interest as well.
The reality-stunt franchise, first born on MTV nearly 22 years ago, has spawned three movies and a “Presents” comedy production, Bad Grandpa.

February is the shortest month of the year but that doesn’t mean it has to be any less filled with enticing film and TV options than any other month. That’s certainly true of this February, which begins and ends with a pair of ripped-from-the-headlines miniseries, beginning with the inside story of an infamous sex tape and ending with a boardroom drama from the ride share world.

Steve-o is finally detailing how his famous fishy stunt came to be, ahead of “Jackass Forever” hitting theaters February 4. Thanks to four new episodes of MTV’s “Ridiculousness,” featuring the original Jackass team, fans are learning the truth about their favorite pranks.
Steve-o shot to fame with his “The Goldfish” talent, showcasing a puke-tastic party trick in “Jackass the Series.” “This was an idea that I saved for a special occasion,” Steve-o said in an exclusive sneak peek. “I thought it was going to be a real banger.”
The goldfish survived Steve-o swallowing it and then throwing it back up again. Some could even say the goldfish thrived: “It came out swimming,” Steve-o remembers with a laugh.
He adds, “I’ll never forget after this, [creator Johnny] Knoxville said, ‘Well Steve-o, if you’re not already famous, you’re gonna be now.'”

As the star of “Jackass,” the MTV series born in 2000 that turned into a blockbuster movie franchise, Johnny Knoxville has badly injured every part of his body, from his head to his limbs to his — uh, groin area. But while making “Jackass Forever,” the fourth Paramount film that follows a beloved ensemble of dudes (and one woman) who attempt painful stunts involving blunt objects and dangerous animals, Knoxville finally hit a wall. Or rather, a bull — it ran him over.
Knoxville had been building toward the no-holds-barred stunt for weeks while shooting the movie, which opens in theaters on Feb. 4. “I was trying to do a magic trick in a bull ring,” Knoxville explains over a breakfast in West Hollywood in December, days before omicron made people go into hiding again. “I wanted to prank an animal, and that’s what we came up with.” But the bull didn’t find the joke funny,...

Like it or not, “Jackass” is back. The long-awaited fourth installment of the bone-crunching stunt movie series, “Jackass Forever” reunites Johnny Knoxville, Steve-o, Chris Pontius, Danger Ehren, Preston Lacy, and Wee Man for another go-round of mayhem and hijinks. The movie, directed by Jeff Tremaine, is set to hit theaters from Paramount Pictures February 4. Watch the latest and final trailer below.
Here’s the official synopsis, as if any “Jackass” fan really needed it: “Celebrating the joy of being back together with your best friends and a perfectly executed shot to the dingdong, the original jackass crew return for another round of hilarious, wildly absurd, and often dangerous displays of comedy with a little help from some exciting new cast. Johnny and the team push the envelope even further in ‘Jackass Forever.'”
“Jackass Forever” marks the first entry in the MTV-launched franchise in over a decade, since 2010’s “Jackass 3D.

A Kid's FlickIn October 2020, Doclisboa International Film Festival was upended by a rapidly rising tide of Covid-19 infections. Like other international festivals of that unfortunate period, its fundamental identity as a fixed event—let alone one with international guests—was washed away by a devastating new wave of disease and destruction. In response, the festival fanned out across the next six months, becoming a kind of Doclisboa-on-tour whenever the epidemiological situation granted an opening for it to appear. Portugal was battered by the virus in the early months of 2021, but something of Doclisboa managed to survive intact, even if only as glowing embers nestled in a dampened fire pit. In these months, it stayed in the world in bits and pieces, online or in scattered screenings across the city, even as audiences sheltered from the devastation and had little time for movies. Fortunately, we were luckier this edition. In the meantime,...

Sunday Am Update: Typically, horror movies fall apart on a Saturday night, especially ones with bad reviews and lackluster audience exits. But Universal/Blumhouse/Miramax’s Halloween Kills kept it together, even with a day-and-date Peacock component.
The David Gordon Green-directed sequel, the 12th in the franchise, kept on course for a $50.35M 3-day, slightly higher than what we saw yesterday morning off a $17.2M Saturday, -25% from Friday. That’s a better Friday-to-Saturday hold, percent-wise, than previous Blumhouse October horror pics Paranormal Activity 3 and Paranormal Activity 2, both -35%. Also, Halloween Kills’ Saturday beats Paranormal Activity 2’s Saturday of $13M.
Overall, Halloween Kills is the best 3-day US/Canada opening we’ve seen for a horror movie during the pandemic, beating Paramount’s A Quiet Place Part II ($47.5M), and it’s the best opening for an R-rated movie during the pandemic, blowing away Warner Bros...

The much-delayed latest flick in the Jackass franchise is finally set to come out in early 2022, a date Paramount Pictures wants to stick to — despite the best legal efforts of Bam Margera.
“Margera’s lawsuit is baseless,” said attorneys for the ViacomCBS-owned studio, MTV, fellow Jackasser Johnny Knoxville, director Jeff Tremaine, EP Spike Jonze and others against the wide ranging legal action ex-skateboard thrillseeker Margera filed back in August after being pink slipped from Jackass Forever.
“His claims seeking to enjoin Jackass Forever improperly targetDefendants’ protected speech and are precluded as a matter of law,” a memorandum accompanying the Jenner & Block Llp penned special motion adds. “This Court should strike them.”
“Separate and apart from its legal insufficiency, Margera’s complaint is riddled with outright lies: Margera alleges that Knoxville, Tremaine, and Jonze accosted him in a rehab facility and browbeat him into signing a draconian sobriety contract; that he was fraudulently induced and coerced into signing his talent agreement with Paramount; that Paramount hired a doctor who forced him to take a “cocktail of pills” that Paramount supposedly prescribed for him against his will; that he complied with the Wellness Program; and that he was terminated for taking Adderall, which he claims was prescribed
for him (it was not—he admitted that he bought it off the street—infra at II.D),” the paperwork filed on October 4 in Los Angeles Superior Court declares in some detail (read it here).
The Paramount and Jackass parties want a hearing in front on Judge Robert Draper the day after Halloween to argue their case in person and kick a portion of the Browne George Ross O’Brien Annaguey & Ellis represented ex-franchise star Bam’s claims to the curb.
Fired from Jackass Forever in August 2020 because of a violation of the self-described Wellness Agreement that was mutually agreed upon to keep Margera on the straight and narrow, the Jackass Og hit back with a multi-million dollar and movie shuttering 14-claim complaint a couple of months ago.
If it wasn’t such a potential big money loss kick in the gut to Paramount, Margera’s efforts to stop the movie coming out would be almost laughable, all things considered.
Based off the cringe inducing and sometimes gut churning TV series that debuted in 2000, the MTV Entertainment Studios and Dickhouse Productions’ Jackass Forever was originally supposed to come out on March 5, 2021. The pic is the fourth full-length Jackass movie and the first one since 2010’s Jackass 3D. With the Covid-19 pandemic shutting down productions and cinemas, Paramount said in April 2020 that the picture would come out on July 2, 2021. A date that was pushed to September 3, 2021 in July 2020, and then to October 22, 2021 in the spring of this year.
Last month, with Margera’s lawsuit clearly in mind as well as the Delta variant, Paramount pushed again to early next year … a date that they obviously hope is clear of both Margera’s legal moves and personal crisises.

Steve Levitan is headed to streaming. In the first non-network green light for the Emmy-winning Modern Family co-creator, Hulu has formally picked up comedy pilot Reboot, with Keegan-Michael Key and Johnny Knoxville tapped to star.
In Reboot, created by Levitan and clearly inspired by the recent wave of comedy revivals, when Hulu reboots an early 2000s family sitcom, its dysfunctional cast is forced back together and now must deal with their unresolved issues in today’s fast-changing world.
Levitan co-wrote the pilot script with John Enbom (iZombie). It was based on a story by Levitan. He and Enbom executive produce with Enbom frequent collaborator Danielle Stokdyk. 20th Television, where Levitan is under an overall deal, is the studio.

The “Jackass Forever” trailer dropped Tuesday and the stunts — which include 49-year-old Johnny Knoxville getting shot out of a giant canon — have made us nostalgic for the good ol’ days.
“When is the last time you got together with old friends to laugh your asses off?” the trailer teases, while promising the same “Jackass” mayhem, just with a silver-haired Knoxville this time. Bullfights, attacking snakes, exploding furniture and tongue electrocution are just a few of the stunts that the “Jackass” crew has up their sleeve, not to mention Machine Gun Kelly getting booted into a pool after in a bicycle slap stunt.
While the “Jackass” pranksters have been ever present in the public eye — even pulling off their own stunts during this year’s Shark Week — “Jackass Forever” marks the franchise’s first film in over 10 years, following “Jackass 3D” in 2010. Johnny Knoxville and the “Jackass” guys had their prime moment of cultural relevancy about twenty years ago after the TV show first premiered on MTV. Since then, there have been three feature films, each one more commercially successful than the last. Now, for the first time since 2010’s “Jackass 3D,” the boys (now middle-aged men) are back again with “Jackass Forever.”

When Johnny Knoxville and his “Jackass” gang return to the big screen this fall in “Jackass 4,” it will mark over a decade since the release of the group’s latest film outing. That would be “Jackass 3D,” which opened in October 2010 and became a comedy blockbuster with $171 million at the worldwide box office. Knoxville spent the 10 years in between installments resistant to making a fourth “Jackass” movie but coming up with stunt ideas for another sequel anyway.
As reported in a new GQ cover story on Knoxville: “Ever since 2010’s ‘Jackass 3D’ wrapped, Knoxville had been quietly turning ideas over in his head, jotting down brief descriptions of stunt concepts and emailing himself the notes with ‘Jackass 4 idea’ in the subject line. Finally he felt himself getting the itch and asked his assistant to compile those ideas into a document.”
“It was thick,” Knoxville told GQ about the “Jackass 4” stunt ideas book.

Paramount is set to release “Jackass 4” in theaters this fall, and it’s going to be batshit crazy if a new video (via Uproxx) from cast member Steve-o is any indication of what’s to come. The “Jackass” veteran revealed: “I might have actually talked a doctor into dressing up as a clown so that he could put a four inch needle into my spine and inject me with a drug that would paralyze me from the waist down while I was sprinting and before all kinds of terrible shit happened to me.” Footage of the injection is shown in the video.
Whether or not Steve-o getting paralyzed makes it into the actual theatrical cut of “Jackass 4” remains to be seen, but it’s clearly one of the wildest decisions the stunt comedian has ever made. Steve-o also informed fans that he was in the early stages of...

In several disturbing (and since deleted) videos posted to his Instagram last week that were then picked up by TMZ, “Jackass” star and skateboarder Bam Margera lashed out at the production of the latest installment of the franchise, saying he was being cut out of the movie and that they were stealing his ideas.
Margera, a “Jackass” star since its MTV inception in 2000, also claimed that during the production, he had to submit to breathalyzer and urine tests, and that his medications were being mandated by Paramount, the studio behind the movie. Margera appeared to be inebriated in the videos, the first of which began with him saying, “Who the fuck cares if I’m drunk as hell or not anymore? ‘Jackass’ has put me through fucking hell on fucking wheels for the past year and a half.”

Paramount Pictures announced on Wednesday that it is pushing back the release of the upcoming fourth “Jackass” film from its initial March 2021 date to July 2, 2021.
First announced in December, the film marks the return of the hit 2000s MTV series for the first time since “Jackass 3D” in 2010 and the death of cast member Ryan Dunn a year later. Paramount has not announced which members of the show’s original cast, led by Johnny Knoxville, will return for the new film or if director Jeff Tremaine will take part.
Paramount also announced a smaller push for the upcoming adaptation of Tom Clancy’s “Without Remorse,” moving it back two weeks to a release on October 2, 2020. The moves come as Hollywood studios have pushed back the release of dozens of films in various stages of production in response to the coronavirus pandemic, which has closed movie theaters worldwide.

Impractical Jokers: The Movie isn’t pranking us when it comes to their box office performance. After having a stellar opening last week, the big-screen adaptation of WarnerMedia’s truTV prank show expanded from 357 to nearly 1,800 theaters and earned an estimated $3,545,000, to bring its cume to $6.6 million. The movie has now cracked the top 10 at the box office, right behind Birds of Prey and ahead of 1917.
The pic debuted to an impressive $2.6 million and had the highest per-screen average among major releases at $7,302. The audience response gave it enough of a boost to expand in its second week out, adding 1,493 theaters in 210 markets. On Friday, it slipped 6%, but then jumped a massive 51% on Saturday from last week.
As much as it seems that the performance of Impractical Jokers was out of nowhere, it really isn’t. The Jackass movie franchise is cut from the same cloth as the prank-driven Impractical Jokers,...

Just when you though you’d never hear those words again – “Hello, I’m Johnny Knoxville and welcome to Jackass” – it turns out that we will indeed bear witness to Mr. Knoxville speaking them once more and we’ll do so in just over a year. And that’s because a few months ago, Paramount made Jackass 4 official by giving it a release date of March 5th, 2021.
While most of the death-defying stuntmen in the group have continued to pop up here and there in the time since we were graced with Jackass 3D – which, for those keeping track, was 2010 – fans have long been hoping that they’d get a proper fourth outing. And now, their prayers have been answered. But the question still remains: who from the titular squad will be back?
Well, obviously we can count Knoxville in, but aside from him, no one’s been confirmed yet.

Just when you thought those iconic words – “Hello, I’m Johnny Knoxville and welcome to Jackass” – would never be uttered again, it sounds like we’ll indeed be hearing them once more, and soon. That’s according to Deadline, who are reporting tonight that Paramount has now made Jackass 4 official by handing it a release date of March 5th, 2021.
While most of the death-defying baboons in the group have continued to find work in the years since Jackass 3D saw theaters, which was way back in 2010, fans have long been calling for a fourth outing. And now, they’re getting it. It’s unclear who, exactly, will be returning at this time, but we’d imagine most of the core members will be back for more.
Of course, the absence of Ryan Dunn, who died in a drunk driving accident in 2011, will surely be felt. But maybe they can somehow...
