Matt Edwards is a great actor for Pan tau even if he looks a bit like a joke with his bowler heat on his head. The Supporting actors are annoying and the kids act robitic and clishéd. The Picture looks cold and the shaky cam is annoying. It would be nicer if they use a warm light and a stand still cam like in the 70s Pan Tau.
A wonderful remake of the old 1970ties Czech series. The makers have decide not to just remake the old story line but retell the story and thus bring the plot to today's life. Matt Edwards demonstrates his skills as brilliant Pantomimic actor and needs not to hide behind Otto Simanek, who is unforgotten for playing the original Pan Tau. The other main characters change with every episode and are cast with many top TV stars like Helmfried von Lüttichau, Valerie Niehaus, Sophie von Kessel or Michael Higgs. And I dare to contradict the other critic: There are a wide range of young actors who give a brilliant TV debut like Hannah Chinn or Joseph Cohen.
A successful and brilliant continuation of a legendary TV series.
