April is here and that means there’s a whole slew of new releases headed to Hulu to meet your streaming needs.
In the realm of original films, Hulu has the queer rom-com “Crush,” starring Rowan Blanchard and Auli’i Cravalho, which debuts April 29. Meanwhile, new library arrivals this month include the Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt sci-fi mind-bender “Looper,” both “Shrek” and “Shrek 2,” and all four films in “The Twilight Saga.”
April is also a big month for new TV shows on Hulu. Andrew Garfield’s hot streak continues with the FX drama “Under the Banner of Heaven,” which debuts exclusively on Hulu April 28. For reality TV fans, “The Kardashians” premieres on April 14. Hulu also has two franchise spinoff kids shows returning with Season 7 of “Madagascar: A Little Wild” on April 4 and Season 2 of “The Croods: Family Tree” on April 5.

Though the confusingly named initiative “FX on Hulu” is on its way out, FX is still bringing premium television to Hulu in the meantime.
Hulu’s list of new releases for April 2022 is highlighted by FX limited series Under the Banner of Heaven. This adaptation of the non-fiction book by John Krakauer stars Andrew Garfield as a Mormon police detective whose faith is shaken when investigating a murder involving the church.
It’s not all just FX on the TV side of things for Hulu this month, however. The streamer is debuting second seasons of its series The Hardy Boys (April 6) and Woke (April 8). There isn’t much to report from Hulu’s original movies arm aside from true crime documentary Captive Audience on April 21. But that doc about one family’s 50-year journey for justice sounds like a must-watch.

Next month, Hulu will ring in Valentine’s Day with some counterprogramming. The streaming service will debut its original series “High Fidelity,” a gender-swapped reimagining of Nick Hornby’s novel of the same name. Previously, the book was adapted into a 2000 movie from Stephen Frears starring John Cusack. Zoë Kravitz stars as Rob Brooks, a music-obsessive record store owner in Brooklyn re-examining her previous romantic relationships to figure out what went wrong.
On the film front, the “Bridget Jones” trilogy, “Buffalo ’66,” “The Fugitive,” “Ghost” and “When Harry Met Sally” are among the new selections being offered in February. Releases from last year, like “Where’d You Go, Bernadette” and “Tyler Perry’s A Madea Family Funeral,” are also making their way onto the platform.
New seasons of reality series like “The Voice” and “American Idol” will also be available to stream later in the month.

Charlie Larue is a cheap rate producer with a dream and that dream is a film, a film that will bring together all the most low-down, filthy, nasty, offensive jokes in one disgusting place. Welcome to National Lampoon’s Dirty Movie, a flick that doesn’t let up in its efforts to offend your sensibilities and make you lose your lunch laughing, from the people who brought you Christmas Vacation, Animal House and Class Reunion.
On DVD from 16th April 2012 courtesy of Transition Digital Media, Dirty Movie is an hilarious filth rollercoaster that doesn’t let up with the smut for second. Didn’t like that off colour joke? Well don’t worry, because another one is coming to upset your elderly relatives in a second. The twisted humour never quits in this sledgehammer sketch comedy that assaults you with jokes until you can’t take no more.

Considered to be a sort of police superhero by devoted fans of his long run on "Law & Order: Svu," Christopher Meloni is about to join up with the ultimate crime fighter.
Meloni, the former "Svu" star who announced that he was leaving this spring after 12 seasons when contract negotiations went south, is on the verge of signing on to Zack Snyder's Superman reboot, "Man of Steel," Deadline reports. As of now, the role is undisclosed, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, Meloni will shoot scenes with Henry Cavill, Superman himself.
Along with Julia Ormond, who signed on earlier this week to play Superman's Kryptonian birth mother Lara Lor-Van, Meloni joins an all-star cast that, aside from Cavill, includes Russell Crowe as Kryptonian dad Jor-El, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Pa and Ma Kent, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and Michael Shannon as baddie General Zod.

After 272 episodes of solving especially vexing murders, Detective Elliot Stabler and NBC couldn't crack the Case of the 13th Season Contract. And so after years of primetime glory, crime fighting and an Emmy nomination to boot, Christopher Meloni has left the Special Victims Unit.
TV Line reported on Tuesday night that Meloni has left the NBC hit "Law & Order: Svu," exiting after contract negotiations fell through between the star and network. Series creator Dick Wolf is already searching for a big name replacement -- unfortunately, CBS has already gobbled up Ashton Kutcher for a similar series-saving move -- the site reports, though the network chose not to comment.
The shock move comes hot on the heels of speculation about the future of the show's other star, Mariska Hargitay. Though she's under contract for the upcoming season, NBC president Bob Greenblatt admitted that, given her new child, she may not be back for a 14th.

There is a stereotype about critics that we are sticks in the mud. We want our movies artsy and full of important messages, and we look down our noses on movies that are nothing but pure fun. Well, I have to admit that with National Lampoon's Dirty Movie, I looked at the front cover, sighed to myself, and thought, “I know this movie is going to be terrible.” Now, I wasn't completely wrong. National Lampoon's Dirty Movie is not a good movie. It isn't a particularly good comedy either. Actually, most of the jokes in this movie are extremely offensive, but I am shocked at how much this movie made me laugh. So far, National Lampoon's Dirty Movie is the biggest surprise of 2011 for me.
