Immediate reaction when the end credits rolls
A feel good rom com with a rare melancholic air that probes at the general outlook towards imperfection, body shaming and the prejudices associated with it.
The stereotyping of bald people and an evocative comment on the quintessential feel good Bollywood rom com, its pairing and the understanding of love.
The story of Ujda Chaman
Chaman (Sunny Singh) a Hindi professor in a Delhi college. The 30 year old has everything in his resume to impress a girl ? would be wife, a family and a secure job. It?s his photograph in...

From the time the trailers of "Bala" and "Ujda Chaman" dropped on the public domain, the release dates of both the films have been going back and forth. Now that "Bala" finally releases on November 7, one of the leading actresses of the film -- Yami Gautam -- says she was never worried about all the noise around the possible clash of the two films.
Both films are about a young protagonist suffering from premature balding, and the similarity in theme has grabbed eyeballs.

"I was not worried about the release date at all because our producer is the best judge of that. It is hard to get a single window for release, especially in the end of the year when so many films release. When we make a film, we not only invest in hard work but also a lot of money.

National Award-winning actor Ayushmann Khurrana has opened up on comparisons his upcoming film "Bala" has drawn with "Ujda Chaman", and the subsequent controversy that has erupted, saying "we shot our film first, announced our film first".
While "Ujda Chaman" is an official remake of the Kannada film "Ondu Motteya Kathe", Ayushmann insists that once his film releases, the audience will realise the story of "Bala" is original.

"We shot our film first, announced our film first. There's just one line which is similar, otherwise it's a different film. I've seen the South Indian film (on which 'Ujda Chaman' is based) after we completed the shoot. Once you see the film you'll realise (the difference)," said Ayushmann.
For those who came in late, the problem arose because both the comedies have protagonists who are young men suffering from premature balding.

Actress Maanvi Gagroo feels calm while working on multiple projects, and says being busy lets her rejuvenate.
"It has been crazy in 2019 and I couldn't be happier. Not to glorify workaholism, but I haven't felt this productive in a really long time," Maanvi said.
"While all of my projects like 'Tripling', 'Four More Shots Please!', 'Ujda Chaman' and now 'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhaan', have kept me super busy, they've also given me time to travel. I've been to locations I might or might not have gone to on my own. They've given me time to rejuvenate between projects," she said.
The actress said she made sure she "rested whenever I could, stole some me-time whenever I could and catch up with friends and family whenever I could".
"All in all, it's been a joyous year. And here's to a busier, more productive year ahead," she added.
