I couldn't make it past the 1st episode. There's a lot great moving postcards of the west but not much else. Maybe some high school in iowa will appreciate this but I wouldn't show it to anyone who is a true westerner. This has so much cultural spin, I'm surprised they didn't resort entirely to cartoons and the narration gave me bad flashbacks to junior high. You want to learn about the west, start with ken burns doc. You may not learn as many facts but you'll come away with a better understanding of why people moved west and their experience. We can romanticize it now but places like death valley, the grand canyon, the sierras, beautiful yes, but scary as h too to noobs who were used to town work or farming.
