We saw the rating of the movie was high (but only 253 reviews) so we gave it a try. Acting was bad and not funny. We got through 30 minutes and gave up. I wish it was as good as the reviews say. It almost appears that these reviews have been bought. Sorry.
These are the types of films that don't come around very often. A well-made romantic comedy. A guy willing to go to any length to win the woman of his dreams. Even if that means making a fool out of himself. Many, many times:) Of course, things don't go his way and he gets way more than he bargained for.
This film is full of heart and, thanks to a superb supporting cast, it's full of plenty of laughs too. When you watch this film I'm sure you'll recognize each and every type of person in the family. Very familiar to me anyway!
Well-acted, well-written, just a well-crafted lil' indie gem. Give it a shot!

Oh boy. This is a mix of Ferris Bueller mixed with Tootsie mixed with National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Not an easy combo to get right, but these guys pull it off with flying colors! Two very charming main characters anchor the love story and the zany ensemble keeps a steady supply of laughs (and obstacles) coming. Easy movie to watch over and over and over, always finding new hilarious details each time.

Ryan Karloff and Abby Wathen's strong comedic chemistry highlight the talented ensemble cast in this unpredictable and outlandish comedy. Its a non-stop adventure that is impossible to take your eyes off of. The diverse ensemble of eccentric and pleasantly disturbing characters keeps the laughs coming throughout while still managing to warm your heart in the end. All resulting in a thoroughly entertaining romantic comedy with more than its share of unique twists!!

When I started watching this I figured I would see your run of the mill romantic comedy. Not only was it not your typical romantic comedy, but was shocked how great a movie this was. Very unique storyline with a lot of hilarious moments. Each character was appealing and the main actors were absolutely hysterical. I was literally blown away! I'll be shocked if the people who made this movie don't go on to having giant careers!
P.S.: Where can I get one of those stuffed Airborne Jimmy squirrels?

I had the opportunity to view an advanced screening of this film and I am so glad I went. I was not familiar with the team that made the film so my expectations were not high but I was very pleased with the story and acting. I am not sure even how to describe the film because the characters take such a journey, crossing genres, geographies. Although the film is hilarious with several laughs, it also has a sweet side. The soundtrack is excellent as well.

Every few years a low budget comedy comes along that outshines its big-budget competitors and delivers something unique. Our Scripted Life is that film for 2019. It may be the only film I have ever seen that has sophomoric humor blended with cerebral humor, a viable love story, and plot twists that constantly keep you guessing. The crowd laughed almost non-stop and gave a standing ovation at the end. I got to meet a few cast members and they were so humble and nice. I hope great things for all involved.

I have never seen or heard of a comedy like Our Scripted Life. It is a storyline that kept my attention the entire time with interesting, hilarious characters. Nothing cheesy or cliche like most comedies nowadays that have obvious punchlines. It's an original. Great stuff.

I saw a screening of this movie. It's a hoot and a holler! Sweet rom-com. The lead characters definitely carry the film but could not have gotten there without all the very talented but lesser known supporting cast. The bumbling characters at times seemed too unbelievable or over-the top to be true. But in a warped way, upon reflection, we all have probably encountered some or even alot of these characters in our own lives. I know for a fact I could easily be related to the Turner family.

I was invited to a screening this weekend by a friend and I decided to go despite being under the weather. The story is pretty unique and flows really well. There is a funny twist which I won't reveal but the film is almost two separate stories. The actors were incredible and made an already funny premise even more hilarious with their reactions. There are some over the top characters and scenes which would be hard to pull off but this cast really did shine. The church scene and dinner scene might be the funniest thing I have seen in the past few years. The time in the theater flew by and I literally thought it was a short film until I looked at my phone and realized we had been inside almost two hours. I look forward to seeing this film again when it is released.

Our Scripted Life is a brilliant script and one of the funniest movies I have seen in years. The acting was fantastic. This movie should receive many rewards for acting, script, music, and comedy.
This movie definitely had an original storyline that keeps on hitting hard in the funny category. The story moves along nicely and is very heartfelt. The cast was brilliant! Quality of the film was great! I hope we get more of these movies in the near future!

I thought Ryan and Abby were absolutely fantastic and a great supporting role for Pat was also well done and VERY funny. The scenery and overhead views were great and it is a refreshing and memorable film that will be enjoyed by all. The producer David Towner has crafted a winning combination of characters and storyline that take you on a journey of heart filled moments blended by humorous and very entertaining exchanges by the cast of characters who performed flawlessly. I especially loved the church scene and the dog role of Boogums, those long eyelashes were gorgeous and such a sweetie!!

You think this movie is going in one direction, and then all of a sudden you find yourself laughing at a situation you never saw coming. I recommend to anyone for a good chuckle

Such a funny and unique film. Great cast and incredible writing. This is the kind of humor we used to see that has gotten lost. You will be pleasantly surprised at this indie comedy and laugh consistently from start to finish!
This romantic comedy is sure to keep you laughing with its unpredictable exchanges between the many "interesting" characters. Leading actors Abby Wathen and Ryan Karloff are incredibly talented and keep the viewer engaged throughout the film. Supporting actors are some of the wildest mix of stereotypes that all mesh creatively into a film that will leave you begging for more. This is a "must see" film!

Was so funny, especially loved the hillbilly family, they steal the show for sure.
Our Scripted Life doesn't follow any formulas or trends. Just a bunch of funny scenes and scenarios, mostly about dysfunctional families. It was a bit strange at first since it doesn't flow like a big budget film I found it refreshing and super funny once I got into it.

If you like humor that is not diluted or restricted by the potential to offend someone, this is the film for you. There is some edgy content but it's done in such a way that it just comes off a goofy. It's because of this factor that I have to say this film is brilliant.
Our Scripted Life is one of those films that you watch and find funny but later realize there is so much more substance than just the surface. I am in love with the Turner family.

Just when I thought that all comedy writers had all fallen into the formulaic, set up/punchline trap or embraced the cliché "Socially inept 30 something trying to find their way in life" story line, Our Scripted Life comes along and gives me renewed faith in indie films. Low budget comedy is not easy (I've tried and failed) and rarely does a film come together with all elements in alignment but I have to say that aside from a few nitpicky production things, this film is a homerun. It looks like (on imdb) many of these actors and the Director have worked together and it shows. Such tremendous chemistry on screen. It has been at least 10 years since I have seen a film with this much comedic versatility. At times it felt like I was watching a play. There is so much going on in this story (no spoilers), I don't think I even recognized its substance watching it once. It's been a long time since I have thought so much about a film after watching it. It is unique and very daring, if nothing else. Kudos to all involved.
Such a pleasant break from all of the political agendas in many independent films. Nobody needs to watch a movie and be told how to think. This film is just a great escape from all the drama and chaos of our world.
I went to see this film at the London International Film Festival with a friend. I'm not really into comedy but fortunately, this film is much more than just a bunch of laughs. It has a very sweet side.
