Katie's Sanctuary

This is the best so far of Babes occasional foray into producing feature films, rather than the web vignettes the label is famous for.

It takes the premise of the hit 2005 horror film "Hostel" and instead of going for gore and horror sticks to a classy suspense format about a couple of British tourists stranded in Budapest after backpacking across Europe, now broke.

They are rather easily bamboozled by sinister Luke Hotrod into accompanying him to a hostel several miles from the city, and once there are subjected to his manipulations, involving a bevy of live-in beauties as bait.

Victoria Summers is smashing as the strong heroine, her acting as good as her XXX prowess. As her young boyfriend Chad Rockwell is up to the sexual requirements of the role, but no great shakes as a thespian. I enjoyed Luke's performance in a surprisingly complex role, not just your cardboard baddie.

Black Brit actress Jasmine Webb leads the femme supporting cast of lovelies, and the show does play like a real movie, certainly adequate for a soft-X cut to play on late-night Pay-Cable networks like Showtime or Cinemax.

DVD runs 164 minutes long, but the feature film is only 125 minutes in duration, padded by an additional 15 minutes of recap footage and repeated credits, as it was compiled from initial use divided into four separate vignettes for the usual web streaming. Also on the disk is a standard Babes 27-minute vignette titled "Skinny Dipping", starring the ageless teen Gina Gerson swimming with Matt Ice and then humping him on dry land.
