Per Nielsen, in the last quarter of 2024, “Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends” was the second-most-watched streaming show among kids age 2-5, and remained No. 2 when isolating for boys 2-5. In that demographic, it beat popular preschool series “Paw Patrol” and “Cocomelon,” usurped only by smash hit “Bluey.” Overall, the series has reached one billion hours watched on Disney Jr. and Disney+, and on YouTube, it has hit 2 billion views across Disney Jr. and Marvel HQ’s channels.

In 2024, Disney Jr. was behind “Bluey,” which ranks as the No. 1 most-watched show among preschoolers; “Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends,” which took third place; “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse,” which took the No. 6 spot; and “SuperKitties,” which was the No. 10 most-watched series in the age group. The channel also ranked as the No. 1 cable network for kids 2-5 for the third year in a row.

Not only is “Bluey” the No. 1 most-watched show for preschoolers, it also ranks as the No. 1 most-watched streaming show in 2024 through November, tallying up 50.5 billion minutes watched (842 million hours) for viewers in the U.S., according to Nielsen streaming data.

Team Spidey of “Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends” is collaborating with the Fantastic Four’s very own The Thing — also known as Ben Grimm — in a special Rosh Hashanah-themed episode which is set to premiere on Disney on Sept. 15.

For this holiday episode The Thing, who was created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee, teams up with the kid-centric characters Miles Morales and Peter Parker to both save and celebrate this year’s Rosh Hashanah.

In the episode, Gobby (aka the Green Goblin) steals all of the bees, threatening the Rosh Hashanah tradition of celebrating the Jewish new year with apples and honey. In Variety’s exclusive clip, The Thing can be seen rejoicing with Team Spidey after they were able to stop Gobby from stealing all the honey in a beautiful moment of love and celebration.

On the heels of the latest Marvel premiere and “Wakanda Forever” breaking records for Disney+, the streamer switches gears for the month of March to a galaxy far, far away. That’s right: It’s Star Wars season on streaming, with more new episodes of “The Bad Batch” as well as the long-anticipated Season 3 premiere of “The Mandalorian.”

Season 3 picks up with Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his adorable charge Grogu, who shared an emotional goodbye at the end of Season 2 but reunited in “The Book of Boba Fett.” Din sets out to unlock the secrets of Mandalore, including his possession of the Dark Saber and its complicated connections to the family of Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff). It’s rare that a month goes by on Disney+ without a major new Marvel or Star Wars release. With its list of new releases of November 2022 though, Disney+ is going to attempt to go without it’s two big tentpoles.

That’s not to say that neither Star Wars nor Marvel will play a role on Disney+ this month. Star Wars prequel series Andor will continue to chug along, culminating with its 12th episode and season 1 finale on Nov. 23. Meanwhile, a couple of minor Marvel documentaries make their premieres in the beginning of the month.

In place of new Star Wars or Marvel blockbusters, Disney+ is turning some of its lesser-known franchises this month. Disenchanted, the long-awaited sequel to 2007’s Enchanted, premieres on Nov. 18. That will be followed by the season premiere of Willow, a series based on the 1988 movie of the same name.

Sometimes even the most rich and powerful of streaming services need a little break. Such is the case with Disney+’s list of new releases for July 2022.

As the stewards of Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, and hundreds of other beloved franchises and characters, Disney is never exactly hurting for content. And that’s good for them as streaming service Disney+ won’t be bringing much new material to the table in July 2022.

The only major release of note this month is the finale for delightful Marvel series Ms. Marvel on July 13. The story of Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) discovering her powers has been a worthwhile little entry into the MCU canon thus far. Will the show opt for spectacle in its finale like many of its Marvel peers? I suppose we’ll find out on July 13.

It’s been a grueling three months since Marvel fans had a hit of the MCU in the form of Spider-Man: No Way Home and even longer since the last Marvel Disney+ series (Hawkeye). Thankfully that unbearable drought will be coming to an end with Disney+’s list of new releases for March 2022.

This month is highlighted by the arrival of Moon Knight on March 30. Oscar Isaac stars as the latest Marvel hero, a man with a fracturing personality and awesome power imbued by the Egyptian god Khonshu. Tonally, this seems like a really divergent take from the studio and the trailers promise some compelling mystery and bone-shattering punches if nothing else.
