A careful examination of the maps shown periodically in the series, reveals that the fictional town of Tenmo is based at the real-life town of Oiso.
Takes place in the year 2070 with many elements inspired by the 1970s, such as the student film Lady Momoe starred in which draws inspiration from 70s era Japanese films such as Lady Snowblood (1973), fashion, hairstyles and the manga Hajime is seen reading, the cover of which appears to resemble The Rose of Versailles.
Misumaru Middle School's student reporter Hikaru is very similar to the pilot Hikaru Amano in Tatsuo Satô's previous work Martian Successor Nadesico (1996).
